Default "L" Logo

I've got an idea - Ooh! Nooo!
I'd like to have the "L" logo on the back of my NX like the front has instead of the letters that are there.
Has anyone done that to their NX's ?
Cleaning/waxing around the letters is harder and can also scratch in time compared to cleaning around an oval or round logo.
I saw the "L" logo on the back of a couple of RX350's lately but I don't know what year they were.
I imagine the letters are just double-side sticky taped on.

Any idea's of what year and/or model "L" logo's might work for me ?
I'll greet your input with enthusiasm 🤓

were before 2022, now it is all letters, look on eBay, they have plenty of emblems, but I think they need holes for them to go into look at the pictures, they are all pretty much the same for any models. Anyway, logo is an old school, do not do it, I mean you do whatever you want, you can always just DIY, get a logo, if it has tabs, cut them, get double sided tape, stick it on the back, stick the logo on the trunk... but I think that would be just

Yup, the older style logos are out, lettering is in for pretty much all manufacturers this decade. But Oreon is right, places like eBay, AliExpress, or whathaveyou are littered with the older logo emblems. You can even find Lexus emblem in the old font style too, the one with the weird "e", if you want full retro.

OK - I hear you guys, I’ll have to re-think it over. Oreon333: “Anyway, logo is an old school, - “ at 82 I qualify for that parameter. 😥
Maybe Lexus will put letters on the front soon. Bronco’s have there lettered logo all over their vhicle, front , sides back , etc.

Back to the drawing board for me 🤓

You do you. I personally hate the new trend to spell out the brand. The logo looked much classier.

The letters should come out with some floss and a heatgun. Use an adhesive/tar remover afterwards on the paint and a quick polish might be needed. If you are not comfortable diy, look for 'debadging' services from detailers.

Plenty of L logos online, slap it on with some 3m double sided adhesive or they might come with adhesive included

The NX 2nd generation was designed with the L logo and then pivot to the letters when they decided that the L E X U S words were in. You can see the below original leaked photos before the NX was announced.

@Amigo — at 82 (we should all hope to make it there), YOU, have earned the right to do Anything you want with Your car !!

I agree with @Pandaroo , the symbol is much classier and too bad they didn’t decide to keep both symbol & letters as shown in @lsft’s attached photo — that would’ve been great !!

Your “drawing board” can be whatever you want it to be — find the best Logo, get it, remove letters and slap it on — and it’ll be all yours…
~ Maybe keep the letters in case you decide to sell it ~

Who knows — I may decide to add the letters like in the original leaked photos of the Gen 2 😉

That looks good. I wish Lexus kept the Blue highlights on the logos and Model Lettering of the Hybrid Models

Will do as you suggest IF I put on the "L"
My wife prefers the Lexus letters.
So ... I'm still on the fence

I feel this looks better with logo. Interesting that this was changed.

I heard you can use a hair dryer and dental floss to remove lettering. I wonder if it will still leave marks under especially if car is yr or older due to sun fading? Better to do if NX is new?

I agree 🙌 — and so much so that I think I’m going to do this mod (just gotta add the letters in my case to look like the pic) when the weather gets warmer…

In fact, I was looking at my ‘20 NX last night after I saw @lsft’s photo to see if it was doable… and it is 👍
~ so Thank You, @lsft for providing the pic in the first place 😃

~ Also, Big Thanks to OP @Amigo for thinking of and wanting this change/mod to begin with 🫡

Along with many logos for sale there are also plenty of letters — hopefully I can find some with double-stick tape already on backside. I will stick to the old style letters appropriate for my MY.

IMO, I don’t think there’ll be any fading as of now, due to Lexus’ superior paint, and OP sounds like he takes great care with his “Cleaning/waxing around the letters…”. So, hopefully being in MA, the paint held — just hope there’s no holes underneath…

FWIW I much prefer the letters LEXUS as opposed to the Logo. Regardless of personal taste however, the key is being able to remove and change it if wanted. I mean designing it in such a way that removing it all would be achievable with simple tools like dental floss, etc, and not having to remove screws and then having holes that need to be plugged. Another key is not designing the sheet metal around either one. Keeping the letters or logo adaptable in such a way that one can remove or swap and it will look like it fits.

@BeachyT — I can respect that as we all are entitled to our opinions.

That being said and not trying to hijack OP’s thread —

Thankfully, I only want to update with letters to be what the 2nd Gen was supposed to look like and not what it came out to be.

Also, for FWIW, and I know I’m going to look like a snob, but having a Luxury and it also not being indicated like “h” for Hybrid” or how Toyota’s have “LIMITED”, “XLC”, “SE” and the like added, I wish my NX had that distinction.

Me and my wild ideas are also thinking about adding “LUX” somewhere after — *EDIT: Oops, just looked and it won’t fit after* — or below the “NX 300”. I can make the “LUX” out of the “LEXUS” letters. Just a thought anyway, albeit might not be a popular one…
Opinions and ideas are welcome!! — but please be kind
