Problems with NX’s?
What you have to understand is the Toyota Production System or TPS is a marvel of manufacturing excellence! Everyone, I mean everyone has copied it over the years.
A technical service bulletin or TSB is a very organized and simplified way of informing in a detailed fashion, all the needed info on how to resolve an issue on a vehicle - typically a small number of vehicles and for reasons other than what would qualify for a Recall, which is another means of explaining how the issue is to be resolved but with the added fact that it more directly affects safety.
Nothing could be more assuring to an owner than the fact that Toyota takes car building very seriously. And TSB's are utilized to facilitate that fact. As noted above most TSB's are for 'little things' and a technician can easily peruse through these to get to an approved solution in order to resolve a customer complaint. It's virtually a database tool to fix your car. I say the more the better. Plus the public can view them also so they can do their own research.

Well, after a month of reading this forum daily along with joining a couple of Facebook groups I have narrowed down the problem areas most discussed. In no particular order
12 Battery charge
Door handle issues
Fuel door misaligned/stuck
None of these even if combined would keep me from purchasing my NX due in this week. The one thing I wasn’t able to discern was were most of these problems occurring on Canadian built units or Japanese built ones? Thanks for the input.

I have had all 3 of the problems you list.
The Door handles Froze and were replaced under warranty.
The fuel filler cap failed repeatedly and was replaced under warranty with a new re-designed part.
The battery failed twice but has now been replaced, at my own cost, in the last few months. This is because Lexus tested the battery both times and said it was fine. I knew it was not fine and it often showed as low as 11.1v at the terminals. I went away recently for 18 days and the new battery was fine when I returned.

So far battery went dead, replaced under warranty but technician told us never use car in accessory mode will probably go dead in 10 mins. These seems to be bad design on my book.
Gas cap door replaced after 4 month wait. Wouldn’t open, plastic hinge broke. Fixed under warranty.
Transmission throttle error message take to dealer. Dealer found no error codes in history. Service said don’t worry about it, what the ….?
This is my 6th Lexus, never so many problems. All in 10 months. Not to mention waiting 8 months for second key. Talked to my salesperson and he said they never saw so many issues with new Lexus. He blamed the move to build this vehicle in Canada, but from my view it’s bad design and plastic parts.

Is it the vehicle or is it the buyers expectations that generate so many TSB’?
Was doing a little research and found that the 2022 RX has had 27 TSB’s issued. Luckily most of them didn’t concern me.
ive got a new NX coming in soon so I decided to check it out also. So far there have been 16 TSB’s on the 2025. Not too alarming at all until I realized the 2024 had 91 TSB’s. That’s a crazy amount of complaints and issues. Many of them were non starters but still, 91
i realize that many people that frequent these boards do so to get an answer to an issue they are having or to just gain knowledge on a product they own or are considering so quite a few threads will be about problems so I’m wondering about whether I made the right decision or if buying an X1/X3 might have been a wiser decision. That’s why I turned to the TSB info before asking people here if they would still buy an NX if they had a do over? I’ve had some type of Lexus for the last 15 years. Have had ES’s and RX’s with luxury packages in all of them. I’m a product snob because none of mine have ever seen the service dept with any problems other that a floor mat and air bag recalls.
Edit: Should have added that the NX holds its book value much better than an X1/3. The BMW has a terrible 3 year depreciation!. But, depreciation cannot be the only thing I look at. There has to be some type of fun factor considered along with reliably and total cost of ownership.

I wonder if building cars during COVID contributed to the downgrade in NX quality? I keep hearing about people warning not to buy “COVID cars” as there was a supply issue along with pressure to pump out vehicles despite the regular parts and personnel not being available. And who chose to put in paper mache dash material? My 24 NX has avoided all the issues except for the 12 volt battery.

After 22 mths the only real challenge I've had is learning to use the close and lock function on the rear hatch. After some initial struggles I thought I had it all figured out, but perhaps once every 3 mths it proves me wrong. I do have a pending recall for the VVT gear actuator which requires a software update which I will do in March for my 2 yr service. I also noticed a TSB for the shifter malfunction in cold weather which includes my car in the VIN range, but it hasn't personally affected me. This is also a software update thing, but I'm not sure they would do it at the same time or not since I don't have the codes present for it.
Outside of that, I've not had the fuel door issues, frozen door handles, flakey wireless charger, 12v battery problems, or shaky mirror problems commonly discussed. My infotainment system occasionally loses and disables the Android Auto connection (has happened perhaps 6 times in 22 mths), but it always connects back up without issue and otherwise it's been working fine (although I still don't have the very latest version release, I've tried both OTA and USB updates and it always says I'm up to date but without any real issues with the current version and don't use Car Play its not a concern for me).
So far, knock on wood, the NX has maintained my high opinion established with the previous 3 Toyota and Lexus cars I've had (not counting my 71 Corona I had as a teenager, which was held together with body filler and best wishes).

All I can say is that I've had my 2022 450h+ now 2 and a half years, and other than having to take it in for the two recalls, one a software update, and the other the voltage converter, it has been absolutely flawless. I've had none of the other common issues I've seen mentioned. My only complaint is I've been disappointed they haven't made some updates to the infotainment system to add some of what I feel are pretty basic features, like the progress bar on songs and fast forward/rewind buttons, but other than that, I've been very happy with it.
Couple things:
2022 NX - my Wife can't take it to the car wash because at the end of the tunnel when she goes to put the transmission in D, it refuses. I've tried it- it refuses- dealer says he has taken 'many' customers thru the car wash to show "how easy it is" - he's good at it (towing the company line that is). We have friends with NXs and they complain about the same problem. They won't sell us another without this problem being fixed.
And,
