Default Eco light

I just purchased a 2024 Lexus Annex ultimate. We've added about two weeks now and I noticed that the eco-light comes on like it should when you start the car and then goes off. But when you put it in drive and start to move forward the light comes on and stays on. Everything that I read says that the light should come on and then go off and stay off. Is this an indication that the dealer needs to see the car? Everything seems to run normal but I know how these things can go.

Make sure not to confuse the "eco" status light vs the "eco" mode light. Toyota and Lexus have been doing this for a long time, kind of annoying, but one refers to having set the car into ECO drive mode, the other simply means you are (at that exact moment), driving gently. I believe when ECO drive mode is selected, it stays on from one driving session to the other. So the light would stay on in D. But the ECO status light will come on and go off depending on how much you press the gas (this light can be disabled in settings).

Yes, I do understand the differences. What I take from your reply is that if the eco light on the dash, in front of you, goes on it means you are driving gently. This is when it is set to normal drive mode, which as you know i=s the default. I will check this out, thanks
