Smile Overtrail vs Exquisite

Hi,

I am from India and NX 350h is sold in four trims here - Exquisite (base trim), Overtrail, Luxury and F-sport - All are CBU (Fully Imported cars from Japan and not built or assembled in India) - Retail prices here are 95,000$ to 105,000$ for them (Taxes contributing for the most part)

I have chosen to buy Lexus NX 350 but conflicted between Exquisite and Overtrail Trim - Later additionally comes with 18" wheels, AVS, Mark Levinson speakers, 360" degree camera et al - Base Trims are 20" wheels and Lexus 10 speaker system (mostly Panasonic)

I am upgrading from Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8VL bought in 2011 again an assembled unit with parts being imported from Thailand factory of Toyota. Toyota has no RAV4 and/or Crown SUVs in India - Trying to avoid migrating to German 3s

Trims are 7000$ apart on a product which is obscenely expensive and hence request to the experts on should I bite the bullet or stay comfy with base trim

Truly appreciate your advice

Thanks in advance,

Narayan

I would go for the over trail. The 360 camera and Mark Levinson are very nice options to have which I don't have on my car.

When I was buying my my thoughts were I am already spending 50k, why not to add another 10k and get a bunch of options and tech and keep it till the wheels falls off. So yeah spend a little extra and get yourself Overtrail or Luxury and drive it for the next 15+ years

Default RFT vs. regular tubeless

Strange options - NX come with 20" or 18" RFT (Extended Mobility Tires) while RX come with 21" tubeless tires - Driving on RFTs outside Metro area in India is a huge risk esp. when there isn't a spare wheel - Both RX and ES 300h come with spare wheels too

If I do something on my own on the tires (not withstanding the cost), they will void 8 years of comprehensive warranty given on the car

People either buy ES 300h or RX it appears - NX is lost in the middle

As someone who considered Overtrail, but ended up with Luxury. Test drive it, and pay attention to seats. Overtrail has sporty seats, like F Sport. They can be uncomfortable for some people.

18” RFT and Lexus AVS is good incentive to upgrade. Black on Moon Desert looks pretty classy. Luxury is still 1700$ higher

I wanted AVS and other stuff. I was trying seat's over several weeks, trying to convince myself that maybe it is not so bad. but hard bolstering of the seat is not comfortable for me. It's all individual, some people find sporty seats very comfortable. Take it for a test drive and check for yourself.

There are four Trims Lexus India sells (Exquisite, Overtrail, Luxury and F-sport) and Lexus India dealer, Nandi Toyota has only Overtrail and Luxury for test drive - I have test driven both Overtrail as well as Luxury - Longest I have gone is around 25 km where outer ring roads were pretty decent - As in their international trims, Exquisite and Luxury get 20" Extended Mobility Tires (235x50 Bridgestone Alanza) and Overtrail get 18" Extended Mobility Tires (235x60 Bridgestone Alanza) - Overtrail had smoother and quieter ride around the city - It gets more pronounced when the ground clearance is 210" mm in overtrail and 195" mm in Exquisite/Luxury

I can live with lack of ML audio, Wireless charger, 360" degree camera et al for the Exquisite but, ride and handling is slightly better in Overtrail and hence decision

Lexus India mentioned them as Monolith Synthetic seats while I particularly didn't notice it being hard bolstered - I could see, F-sport was like that .. let me confirm again

Other SUV I was evaluating was 2024 Audi Q5 and top trim is available for at least, 5K$ less and comes standard with adaptive suspension and more spacious cabin - Having spent so much on a SUV, I didn't want to miss out on AVS

They are obscenely priced here - 95K$ for 2024 Audi Q5 Technology and 2024 Lexus NX 350h Exquisite, 101K$ for Lexus NX 350h overtrail and 102k$ for Lexus NX 350 Luxury -

having said that, are Audi Q5 adaptive suspension and Lexus NX 350h Overtrail AVS - are they comparable?
