Default RX to NX?

Anyone move from a 4GEN RX to NX and if so, any regrets?

Moved from 3GEN RX to NX for what it's worth. I LOVED the comfort and quiet ride of the RX. I have no regrets concerning the smaller size and comfort level of the NX. I also love the NX hybrid's great gas mileage. However, I continue to have daily irritation of the NX's engine noise and slower acceleration. I still think that the NX purchase was right for me due to the size and mileage - I just don't love driving it as much as I always did driving the RX.

Thank you - that's my concern. This is my wife's car - I guess we have to take it for a test driver and push it a bit. I worry less about MPG - comfort and quiet is more important to us.

We switched when our 2020 RX350 FSport 3 was stolen December 2022. Didn't have a lot of choice as the inventory of Gen 4 RX was slim to none and getting anything at that time was really difficult. We have no regrets. I was contemplating the 23 RX, but the $9K price bump for the same drive train and most of the same toys just couldn't be justified. This generation NX is a bit bigger, which was our beef with the previous generation NX. The performance is great, handling is great, mileage is awesome (we have the hybrid). Engine drone is prevalent, but then it'll be the same in the RX as it's the same drivetrain. Unless you need the extra space in the RX, or want the hot rod 500h, you should be fine with the NX.

We have a RX350L but plan to keep that vehicle but I'm waiting for a NX350h as a commuter vehicle since I drive a lot for work and other events.

If you don't the space, downsizing to the NX is fine. The seats feels smaller on the NX compared the RX. Interior room is less along with cargo capacity and 2nd row as well. RX probably has the conventional tires compared to the RFTs on the NX. Ride is smoother on our RX so you will give some of that up if you want the NX.

NX has newer tech and the hybrid has really good gas mileage with the latest safety features.

We didn't switch but my car is a 2019 RX350 and hers is a 2022 NX350 and I try to avoid driving hers. It's too small, the engine is too "buzzy" and neither of us like the infotainment touch screen thing. We regret buying the NX but she puts up with it because it's too much trouble to go through the whole buying process again, along with the financial hit.

This isn't true - I test drove both and noise insulation is better in the 2024 RX vs 2024 NX. This has also been reported by many others in the forum, including those that are owning the 2024 NX and 2024 RX in the family

I’ve never had an RX (test drove a couple), but my thoughts as a NX owner… Smaller, sportier, more road feel, small cargo space, more engine noise. My wife and I love it. For a family of 4, nope.

My RX was a bit like driving a couch. A very nice couch mind you. It shined the most just chillaxing along the road. The NX feels firmer, snappier and more manueverable. You can chillaxe in the NX, but you can just feel the yawn building the longer you do it. I could baby my RX for weeks, I usually only can make it an hour or two in my NX before the need to "make it go" comes over me. I do miss the larger trunk of the RX at times though.

I have a Gen 4 RX, Gen5 RX and NX Gen 2 in the family. I find the RX5 to be much smoother and quieter than the NX and the RX4. Spacewise obviously the RX is much bigger than NX. My shoulders touch the B pillar in NX where in RX I have lots of space on the sides.

Tech is very similar (RX5 & NX2, same drivetrains)

Handling: The NX is much peppier and a lot more fun to drive than RX.

You need to test drive them to decide. it is 100% personal preference.

Went from a 16"RX350 to a 22' NX350h. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Thanks all the input. Mixed bag as I suspected. We sat in an NX this past week but haven't driven it yet. Definitely apples and oranges with the RX size wise. I'll let my wife make the next move If she doesn't ask, she'll just keep driving the RX which will probably go another 100K miles albeit with a bit of maintenance.

Wrinkle is 100% correct regarding the difference in noise. My wife and I own both the RX and the NX on the 450h+ platform and the RX is dramatically quieter than the NX, despite the two vehicles having the same drive train. The NX is a bit more fun to drive. It's just feels a bit snappier.

Wife went from 08 RX350 to a 24 350h, she loves it. Our son now has the 08 as his first car.
Definitely less roomy inside, but she thinks the NX handles much "better". Well anything will handle better than the RX.

I think you'll find the 450h+ equally as quiet in EV mode but still not the same in the ride/suspension.
