Default NX and body side moldings

Just curious if anyone has body side moldings on their NX or had the body side moldings installed?

If so, picture please. Did they come with instructions?

Thanks.

I usually use Bell Lexus.

https://parts.belllexusnorthscottsdale.com/

Ask for the internet parts sales and they can get you a quote.

I personally don't care for the looks of body side moldings, especially when the two halves are of different lengths (e.g. front piece is longer than the rear piece) which I think looks strange, or if there is a big gap at the door opening edge. But if your habit is to park close to other vehicles it may help save some dings or scratches from happening. If it was me, I'd give it a pass and take up the habit of parking clear of other vehicles...

As I was trying to do that today, my wife kept pointing out all the parking spaces I was passing up during my search for a better one.

Haha, you should give her a history look-back so she realizes how easy she's got it when you chauffeur her places.

She doesn't want to get cold (or hot) or get a hair out of place from the wind by walking more a thirty steps from the car to where she's going.

Give her a break - buy her a donkey.

In some parking lots, they make the spaces very close. IMO, better to be safe than sorry and not have it.

Default Hey, if looks are more important than having to find a better pkg space, go for it

The wife has an SC430, bought her some of those magnetic things that you have to pull out of the trunk and put on both sides of the care EACH time you park . Bottom line, years later there is always some A-hole that you park next to that doesnt give a damn about your Lexus.... she has several dings due to folks that open their doors because she didnt use the side door protectors.good luck w your worrying about the looks vs my not having to find the "perfect" parking space........
How do you think your new ride will "look" after its first ding....

Here in Plano, Texas the parking spaces are huge, but I still never park where I think someone will park beside me. I haven't had a ding in 20 years or more with my parking habit.

I second this, they don't work well anyhow as you need the other persons door to be at the same height as you guard. Save the $ and get paint-less dent repair should someone ding you. Probably get several repaired for the price of the guards.

A few years back the company I was working for decided not to put product in boxes, they just stretch wrapped them. Thinking was the material handlers at the retail level considered the boxes protection and mishandled them resulting in damage. Claims dropped like a stone as those handlers take it easier when they can see what they may be damaging. Maybe the same situation here, the other driver sees your guards and decides they don't need to be as careful. Psychology?

I guess I have a different opinion of folks that slam open their doors in a tight parking lot.
My friend has a Lexus GX470, two weeks ago he was in the store parking lot waiting in his car while his wife shopped. He heard a loud thud and looked over....it was an elderly woman who just slammed her door open not paying any attention to what her door hit.
There was paint damage beyond a superficial dent.
Based on your premise that someone is gonna notice a door molding then slam into the door maybe a very small minority of folks.
If they are cognizant enough to notice a body side molding, they are probably gonna be careful when they open a door.....and how about kids who exit a vehicle.
Everybody has there own opinion. I personally do not want to rely on someone caring about my vehicle....

IMO, this thread has gotten off topic. I'm not looking to post and host a debate about body side molding. Sorry, those are unhelpful responses.

I asked if anyone has body side molding installed by themselves or by a professional with instructions. Ugh, I called the dealer and got the answers.

Here's the instructions I got from Bell Lexus for those interested.

I have to reverify the part # since it came as wrong part #. I'll negotiate with dealer to see if they can install. I'm paying MSRP anyways.
