Default Help finding missing tools in trunk

Hi all,

Because the car has run flats, I noticed the car does not come with any tools (except for a screw driver wtf?).
My OCD is killing me and I feel like I have to fill all the slots with the proper tools. I populated the lug wrench (09151-F6010), wheel lock key, socket (0915A-F6010), and pin - wheel guide (0915B-F6010). I am purchasing a jack from another company because I am NOT paying $200+ dollars for a jack.

I noticed there is another circle next to the wheel lock key slot. I was wondering if anyone knows what tool this hole is for? I can upload a photo if no one knows what I am talking about.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you have a spare tire already? The tools are useless if you don't intend on swapping your own flat tire.

And if you don't have a spare, I would suggest the full kit from Modern Spare.

I plan on getting a spare tire from Modern spare for road trips. (I actually purchased the jack from there).
For now, I got a tire repair kit hoping I will never have to use it.

Still trying to figure out what the one hole is for...

I'd have to go look at mine to see. But the Manual shows a list of the tools that are NOT provided. The ONLY tools I got with my 23 450H+ was a Dollar General Screwdriver and a Tow Pin. The manual may be a hint.

Sorry, no help here, just ideas.

Great suggestion!
Interesting, I looked in the manual and it doesn't look like my trunk space lol. The hole I have next to the wheel lock is not in the picture. I am wondering if it's for a lug nut...
On a side note, I found out the screw driver is for removing the vent cover in the backseat to clean the filters.

Okay, I took a photo of my trunk. I'm not sure which round spot you are asking about.

The top slot is the lug wrench. Mine is the Yellow Handle with the Jack.I stuck my Lug Socket in the end of the Lug Wrench slot. Next to the White/Blue Socket is the Lug Lock Key.
Below that is the Tow Pin provided by Lexus.
Large Jack slot with Jack and Wrench.
I get lost after that with the small holes but I do keep my 2 Lug Pins and Air Gauge.
The Silver and Red/Orange is an folding Emergency Light.
Next in the Black Cloth Bag are my Tire Changing Tools that I received from Modern Spare. It has Sockets, Handles and stuff.

And that is what I have in mine. Hope that helps you.

Thanks for the picture and helping me solve this mystery!
Your trunk looks way different than mine. Here is my photo:

I am trying to the find the tool/piece to the right of the wheel lock. The wheel lock does not fit in the other hole (well it does fit but does not seat flush).

Can't say. I have a 23 NX 450H+ not sure which model you have. Wild guess on my part would be a second Wheel Lock Key or maybe a Socket similar to mine. I purchased the one you see in my trunk because the socket has a silicone (white portion) to protect the finish on the wheels. So if you're taking Lug Bolts off with a socket, you could store it there. But that's my idea.

I like the way yours is the hard plastic. Mine is styrofoam.

Same here 22 NX450h+ and I got Styrofoam. Definitely prefer that. What year is yours? I wonder if I can swap it out by finding the part #. I got my charger wrangled down there. Not ideal. Feels like wasted space.

I have the 2024 NX350h.

Sorry, just realized I did not put the year and model because I shaved off my original post because it was getting long winded and complaining how Lexus does not feel as luxurious as they used to lol

Looks like Lexus is putting styrofoam in for the 450H+ and plastic in the others. But that’s a guess on my part. I’ll bet it is to lighten it up since the 450H+ is heavier to start with. A benefit of the styrofoam besides weight is I feel the styrofoam grips the items and holds them tight and keeps them from rattling around. Just a thought.

it could be this hub bolt alignment socket that I ordered a while back but never got around to putting in the trunk. It's 3 inches in height and about 1x1 inch in length and width.

Didn't know what that was but I looked it up. Still don't know but it sure looks like a fit. I'll bet that's it if your model NX uses one.

I was caught off guard as well just like you. After I took the car home for the first time and started exploring things I of course looked in that cargo area and saw all of the empty slots (except for the screwdriver) and thought that the guys along the assembly line missed this. So I called the dealer to ask about the "missing" tools and they told me with runflats you get none. I also looked in the Owner manual and discovered the same thing. I didn't care for the look of a bunch of empty slots so the first thing I thought was to buy at least some of the basic tools like a lug wrench and socket. Then I started thinking about it and frankly cannot remember the last time I took off a lug nut or removed a tire--must be at least 20 years. And those were the days before runflats. If I had a problem I would just call AAA or stick enough air in the tire to limp to a tire shop.

That being the case I decided NOT to bother with getting any tools, although seeing a bunch of empty slots still bugs me.

Interesting, I actually purchased this tool because I thought it fit in the slot directly below the wheel lock key (in my photo). I will check if this fits the hole! I am inclined to think it is not meant for it because I believe this tool was listed in the manual. I will let you know when I get this tool. Thanks!
