AC automatic on after remote start
Hi all,
Does anybody know how to keep the AC on after shutting down the engine and after remote start, the AC will continue to run the AC?
Every time the car is off and when I get back in, the AC seems to turn itself off....I would like to install an aftermarket Remote start system, I like to Remote start while keep the AC on in order to cool down the cabin before I enter.
TIA.

I’m not 100% sure I’m following everything, but here’s a few things.
The AC compressor will not function if the engine is not running, regardless of any type of remote start.
If you use the app, you can set climate preferences there and remote start from the app. The engine will run and heat/cool to your desired temperature.

Thanks for the info.
In all my previous non-hybrids vehicles, I can remote start the engine and the AC will keep the previous setting (for example 60F, AC on with full fan speed).
But seems like my new NX350H will turn the AC OFF after I shut down the vehicle. After I re-enter the vehicle, I have to MANUALLY push the AC ON button......
BTW, I would like to not renew the App which has a subscription fee. I would rather pay for the remote start upfront and own it forever with paying any monthly/years subscription fees.

With the new Toyota Multimedia, the AC light will always turn off when you off the car and the light will remain off when you restart the car. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the AC itself is turned off. It goes into a sort of AC auto mode. If it thinks you need AC, it will still blow cold AC air even when the light is off. And if it’s cold outside, it will blow warm heater air.
I’ve talked to my dealer about this and they’ve also received a lot of complaints. They’ve reached out to Lexus, and they insist it’s a “feature” and not a bug.

The app has your remote start and you can even adjust climate controls from the app. I just turn my auto climate to 68 and when I remote start 5 minutes before leaving work ,it's perfect in there.
Also ,on my 350h the AC compressor is electric ,not belt driven by the engine so no need for engine to run to cool the car.

The first 3 years of the app subscription are free and 10 years of safety connect and roadside assistance are free also in the USA.They do bug the **** out of you trying to get you buy the wifi hotspot for the first 30 days which is NOT needed.

Yeah I ain’t buying that wifi hotspot. Everyone in the family has a phone with tethering, why pay AT&T for something I don’t need?

I would just like for my car to be on my Lexus app, disappeared after about 2 months and no one at Lexus can figure out why it was dropped or how to get it back. The app knows who I am but no car, why oh why did I let my wife talk me into buying this car?
that’s odd. Have you tried accessing the remote start menu from the car and seeing what it says? You’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and resetting the car infotainment screen to defaults and setting it up like new?
Not only have I tried everything the 3 so called car delivery techs have been unable to find/fix/figure out what the problem is. Should just sign in and enter the six digit code but that doesn't work. This is just one of MANY problems Lexus can't solve.
