Default Finally got my annoying shaking mirror FIXED!!!

I just got my 23 NX back from local dealer for the shaking mirror issue. On 04/11 I took my NX to Queens Lexus in NYC. Met the service writer and handed him the TSB for the mirror repair. Service writer inform me the parts will take about 2 days to arrive and repair take about 2-3 hrs. On 04/13 got a phone call, parts are in. Today 04/14 drop off the vehicle at 10:30am and left the vehicle with them. After work I went there to pick up my NX at 4PM. As soon I drove the NX I noticed the annoying/distracting driver mirror shakes is completely gone. So if someone out there still waiting for the result. Just go to your local dealer and tell them about the TSB.

on a side note, I had their 21 NX300 loaner for half of day. The driver and passenger mirrors shake and vibrate also.

the old driver mirror motor definitely has bit of play. My NX only has 2000 miles. If anyone has any question feel free to ask. I am auto tech myself btw.

Is the TSB the same as the one used on the RAV4 for the last decade?

Awesome, glad to hear it’s fixed! Thanks for sharing your experience! I have been waiting on the results of the TSB wanting to know that it actually does fix it before I have them tearing into my door and running the risk of introducing rattles and other problems.

Do you have any idea how hard it is for them to remove the door panel? Anything l should look out for before/after the fix?

Apparently I am not the first customer with the mirror issue. Service writer knew the TSB as soon I told him about it. Lexus door panel is not that hard to remove and install. Fairly easy repair. Replace the mirror motor and install the extended length mounting bolt, and the extra support bracket. We didn’t pay $60k for new Lexus for it to have issue with mirror right after new car delivery, it is actually somewhat dangerous with the mirror shaking excessively while driving.

The Rav4 one is a little similar, not the same. The one for the NX that Derek provided is much less labor intensive. It doesn’t require panel bonding adhesive or waiting for the fix to cure before driving. Also the mounting bracket used is significantly different.

Nice to see a fellow Queens NX owner. Luckily my car hasn't had the mirror shaking issues.

The major differences is NX will get the entire driver side power folding mirror assembly replaced. RAV4, you are re-using your old mirror assembly

The reason I bought it up. Is this problem has been known to Toyota / Lexus for almost a decade. But still didn’t resolved on the 2nd Gen NX

That's great news!

I'm here in Ontario Canada and had forwarded the TSB onto my dealer a few weeks ago. I just heard back from the service manager on Fri Apr 14th '23, and his reply email stated:"Unfortunately, we are unable to use a USA bulletin here in Canada. There is a Canadian version coming out, so we will have to wait for it to be released to order any parts. I understand that there are 4 different parts for this model. I believe that they are waiting for these parts to become available before they release this bulletin."

So hopefully in a few weeks A Canadian TSB will be officially released and parts can be ordered and I'll be able to have a clear view out my sideview mirror like you have now .

they can’t perform that exact TSB is most likely the dealer can’t submit the warranty claim to get paid. Funny, most of the NX are built in Cambridge Canada anyway. Why they didn’t include Canadian market is weird. I am sure the repair are 100% the same, part and labor. Good luck, hope you get your Nx fixed soon

Question: I haven't noticed (haven't looked since I picked up the car a week ago) the shaking mirror on my 23 NX 450h+. Is this a 350 issue or is it ALL NX models?

Are there any 450h+ owners who have this issue?

I'm sure there's some truth to that. Canadian Dealers, Canadian Division of Toyota / Lexus, Canadian database to submit dealer work / warranty work, Canadian parts supply network for these new TSB parts etc etc. Typically USA is taken care of first, then Canadian market afterwards. Recalls are handled like this also.
