Question Rioja Red: too late :(

Hello Lexus folks,
So excited to join the club. After 8 months wait, I finally received my new 2023 NX 350H. While I'm very Happy with Atomic Silver, I deeply regret not getting Rioja Red interior. I got black instead. Anyone has any ideas on how to pimp up my black interior! I am not very fond of seat covers lol and want my NX to remain in its original matetial...
I have seen an rioja armrest cover but it will look weird alone in the middle of all that black lol
Any ideas, pics etc would be very welcome

I think the only thing you can do is to wait for the Rioja Red one to come. You will have this car for a long time. You are at the top of the waiting list now and can wait maybe a month or two more. To me it is worth the wait for the interior you want. I have the Atonuc silver with Rioja Red and it is a nice combo

Agree. Crazy buying world we live in today with vehicles. Hopefully they will get use to the interior color. IMO the atomic silver is the best color. Waiting on a 2023 RX 350h and they discontinued it on the RX. Friend just bought a 2023 NX 350h atomic silver and wife has the pearl white 2023 NX350h . Both colors are gorgeous but the atomic silver is so unique. If you see one you know it is a Lexus. Love how the color changes depending on the light. We detailed it the other day and in the garage with the fluorescent lights on the shine was incredible.

Thanks, my Lexus dealer confirmed that a few items (Console Trim Panel, door handle trim, armrests, headrests etc) can be ordered in Rioja red. So I will replace my black ones to make a bit of contrats in the back. I am thinking of ordering the seats all together. well, not the entire seat but there is an option to change the back cushion and the headrest. It'll be enough for me to enjoy the Rioja Red that I wanted.

I agree! I hesitated between Atomic Silver and black because I thought Atomic Silver has a gold hint when it's cloudy but I am happy I went with Atomic Silver. Very beautiful.

I liked the Rioja Red interior, but I really liked the Grecian Water exterior and the two shall not coexist. I told me dealer I would take Atomic Silver with Rioja or Grecian Water with black. GWwB is what I ended up with.

Have you owned a red interior before? I had it once on a BMW and grew tired of it. Plus I prefer a lighter headliner which the black interior has vs the black headliner which is what comes with Rioja Red. So I would prefer the black and since you have it might as well learn to enjoy it. Otherwise, life is too short so change the car if you can afford it and if one shows up in your color preference.

How long have you had the car? Are you sure it's not just a short-term case of buyer's remorse?

My preference goes to lighter headliner as well. But the black interior is still too dark to my taste and has no contrast. When I test-drove the car, no rioja red was available for me to see at that time. I only saw it on another NX when my car arrived. I instantly fell in love with it. I just got the car this week so I may get over it. Or maybe I'll order the Console Trim Panel, door handle trim, armrests, headrests etc in rioja red. My Lexus dealer confirmed he can get me the originals as i would hate to use aftermarket on a brand new car.
I was just hoping to hear from someone on this forum who has gone through this process.

My 2 cents: drive the car for a month. See if the color grows on you. You might really enjoy it and prefer it. If you still have that little twinge of doubt saying that the red would have been nicer, just trade it in. With the car market still not completely picked up yet, you’ll likely make extremely close to what you paid, if not slightly more, when you trade in. If you bought any warranties, check when the last day to cancel it is to get a full refund.

no point driving a car with regrets. Enjoy the car and enjoy life.

I too wanted red very much, then palomino or rich cream. Ended up with rich cream. I think you’ll find that the black doesn’t feel very black. There’re enough textures and highlights to break up the black, not to mention the huge 14” screen. Sometimes I think I placed too much emphasis on interior color. Lexus is one of the car companies that does interiors very well, regardless of color

I think the rich cream is a very nice color. All black is just a bit dark and depressing for me—the rich cream adds that splash of lightness to brighten the cabin.

IMO they did a bad job with the non luxury trims of the NX. They are too plasticky for a car in this price range. At a minimum they could have used plain aluminum or faux wood. Also not a fan of the heavy use of piano black in all trims. Both the UX and the RX (they dialed back the piano black) look better in their lower trims.

Rich cream has a black headliner while rich cream has the black headliner. The lighter headliner feels a lot brighter IMO.
