Default Rain sensing wipers a bit too sensitive?

Anyone with the auto rain sensing windshield wipers driven in the rain and found it a bit too sensitive? I find that even setting the sensitivity dial to the lowest, it’s still making a wipe every few seconds with barely a light mist and stopped at traffic lights.

It does make more wipes when I increase the sensitivity, so I know the dial is working—but what are y’all’s experience with it?

You can increase or decrease the sensitivity. It's in the manual ,page 216
Adjust by turning the same as intermittent wiper speed.

Thanks for the reference, Harper. I have the sensitivity decreased to the minimum. My question was about people’s experiences with it even at the lowest sensitivity.

I think the OP said they tried that.
I have an ES300h that I had that problem with. I took it in for regular maintenance and mentioned it. They never told me what they'd to fix it but it worked normal thereafter. I will say it did occasionally go crazy on its own, beautiful summer dry day in Florida and the wipers would just start sweeping. But that was rare. Traded the car for an upgrade but they never did say anything. Sorry not much help but I know it isn't only NX's that have spells.

Thanks for letting me know about your experience with the ES! I will say mine seem to work properly as far as no rain goes—when there’s no rain it doesn’t come on. It’s just that sensor that’s super sensitive. Maybe an ultra sensitive sensor would make it come on even with no rain? Who knows. But good to know it isn’t only me haha.

We have a 23 ES and a 23 IS. The rain sensing wipers work perfectly on the ES but way too sensitive even on lowest setting on the IS. Annoying. Probably have dealer check it next visit given the person above who had theirs fixed.
