Hello, We have a 2022 NXh 350. We've had this car about one year. Let me state that the fuel door has always looked like it was misaligned. After about six months the fuel door started occasionally not opening on the initial push of the button. In less than a month the fuel door would not open at all. After taking the car in for service and finding the replacement parts were back ordered 6 weeks, our dealer told us to have someone stand outside the car and pry the fuel door open while someone sitting inside the car pressed the button..... This is a luxury SUV? Finally after getting the fuel door fixed, it works but still looks misaligned. Has anyone else had these problems?

 

Have you tried out the "Manual Release" inside the trunk area? I've so many problem with it, but it's frozen here in Montreal (Canada)
But still it's look like a bad design. I think the wire that hold the cap get frozen and became harder so it jammed the fuel door.

 

Thank you MTL2022. I did not know that access point was there. I should think that my dealers would have known it was there?????

 

I don't have either problem, but the fuel door hinge sure is flimsy!

I'm sure it's not the door hitch, but the wire that hold the fuel cap got frozen and jammed the fuel door.

 

I had the exact same issue with the fuel door not releasing. I could press the fuel button and use my debit card to actually open the door. After awhile it wouldn’t open at all. The dealership claimed the spring needed readjusting , which seemed to help for a little while. The only solution I found was adding multipurpose grease onto the latching mechanism. I haven’t had a single issue since and it opens perfectly every single time now.

 

I'm wondering if there's a difference between cars built in Japan versus Canada on this issue.

 

Nope, we have the fuel latch problem over here (and some cases of freezed handles) and all Lexuses sold in Europe are made in Japan !

 

I have the exact problem here, 2022 450h+ in Canada, built in Japan. We picked up the car last February, and in December the fuel door stopped working. We have only filled up less than 5 times. Brought it in and they ordered a replacement late December and still no idea when the assembly will arrive..... have to use the backup latch to open every time now. Not a huge deal since we fill up 1/4 tank once ever three months or so, but it would be nice to get this fixed sooner than later...

 

Our fuel door broke a month ago? It took a couple weeks to get a part and it has been fixed under warranty... but yeah, definitely some issues with this part lol...

 

Having same problem with 2022 NX350. In manual page 643 it states to remove cover inside luggage compartment to access emergency pull handle. Problem is, access panel is on opposite side (passenger) of luggage compartment and NOT on driver side where fuel filler door is! Crazy!

 

My dealer said it was a known issue and ordered a replacement door.

 

Had the same issue with the fuel door last winter on my 450h+. Dealer fixed it, works as it should ever since.
