I have a 2020 NX300 with wired Carplay. It works fine (except i wish i had touchscreen), but it would be more convenient to have wireless carplay. I was wondering what have people been using and how successful is it?

However, it's been 2 years and there are now many more products to choose from. On Amazon, i see adapters as low as under $60. Just wanted to see what has been successul onour Lexus.

One issue i am worried about is that even though it connects with BT initially on first connection, it uses wifi afterwards. So if your phone is connected to house wifi, will it be able to automatically connect to this device while you are in your garage when you start your car? Would you have to disconnect your phone from house wifi everytime before starting your car in this scenario?

I had a few from Amazon all with decently high reviews but none of them did well. Very buggy.

What's your report on usage to date with it? Any drawbacks you see other than not being able to charge (if your NX doesnt have wireless charging)?

 

I have not had any issues with it. Connects fairly quickly and no noticeable difference in sound quality. There is a bit of lag on button presses, but nothing I can't live with. It's not extreme. Maps also update a little slower, but again, nothing I can't live with.

I installed a wireless charging mount for the phone...so all my bases are covered.

What a coincidence. That's what I ended up with also before I saw your response. So far so good. However, by clicking on the link, i found out it is $3 cheaper now.
