Default Battery dead and key not working

So It's been -25 to -30 here for over a week. I went to open the door on the /17 NX and nothing. Pulled the key from the fob and inserted it in the door, turned it, and nothing. Battery is stone dead and key will not do anything inside the door to open it. I see this has been an issue to other forum members as well. Has anyone came up with a way to get the door open yet on the Nx?

There is some pertinent information in this message thread:

So, just a follow up. None of those options worked for me. In the end I called a towing company, he jumped out of his rig with his 2 air bags, a long rod with a hook on the end, and had the door open in 45 seconds. I spent the beter part of one whole stinking day pulling those belly pans off the bottom and trying to fish for the stupid hood latch in minus 25 degree weather. Lesson well learned. Thanks for trying to help.

I also have a 2017 and plan to replace the battery next week during the car's regular servicing.

Although I won't come anywhere near temps that are -25 (maybe +25F), but 5 years just seems like a good point to replace the battery so as not to have to even think about the NX not starting at just the wrong moment.

I agree. I installed a $375.00 AGM battery because of our winters here, but I'm sure you could just use the lead acid one they recommend.

Hi Jonny, sorry I took so long to respond, I need to fix that. This is the battery I got but only because it gets so cold here in the winter. NAPA Powerstart Battery BCI No. 94R 800 A AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)
Part #: RNB 94RAGM02 I'm not sure if this is the exact one.
