My dealer said I'll be due at my next oil change & I thought he said plugs are scheduled for replacement at 40,000
I'm at 37,000 & the maintenance reminder comes on when you start the car

My 2017 4Runner is good for 100,000
They are due @40K for the NX.
Obviously, the 4Runner is a different beast. Personal preference only I would not wait for 40K to replace the plugs. They are considered cheap maintenance (for a DIYer). There are lots of youtube videos where you can carefully follow on how to replace them.
I literally just changed my plugs last week. I'm at 44K miles so I passed the 40K by a bit. While it was not difficult, these plugs are EXPENSIVE if you're buying from the dealer, could not believe my eyes and had to find it cheaper on RockAuto lol
I'm very big on preventive maintenance. On my 2020 NX it calls for new plugs at 40k. I just changed them today at 35k (I'm a tad **** about this stuff). This was the EASIEST spark plug change in my life! Even a child could do it!
BUT, what I really don't understand is why it calls for new plugs at only 40k! I thought 'typical' plugs today are good for 50/60/100k !!! Is it because it's a turbo?

"Turbo" is the excuse but I bet it has to do with MPG/EPA/CAFE standards. I've worked on other turbo cars that call for much longer intervals, heck my Audi Q5 I recall is 60K miles for plugs. But if you can get them cheap, it's cheap insurance, my engine definitely felt a bit "peppier" lol
Isnt the 40K for the emission's warranty? My sister’s oem plugs have 95K. I’m going to replace them at the next oil change. I did check them around 70K. They needed slight re-gapping but were fine otherwise. Iridium plugs are known to last 100K easily. I recently started maintaining her car. I gave higher priority to a coolant and ATF flush. The plugs can wait a little longer.
