Terribly disappointed
I purchased my brand new Lexus NX 300 last year. Because of covid, I have barely had an opportunity to drive since I've been home. Now that I have the chance to drive, my blue tooth and radio stops working. I was driving, listening to my tunes, and the sound shuts off. I thought maybe someone was using my Spotify at home, so I try for the radio.. Nothing! It says it's playing, but there's no sound. I take it in to get it serviced and to find out what's going on. They tell me I need a new part and that it would be a week. A week goes by no call to come back in. So I call they tell me the 24th now "because of covid" and that the part is not here in North America. I have to wait until October to get my part. Never have I ever had this problem with any of my used cars, and now I'm spending all this money on a brand new high-end vehicle that isn't even giving me the full value. I'm so very annoyed and disappointed.

I had a 1998 SC400 with a 12 disc cd changer in the trunk. Funny thing is that it always worked and I could listen to music for 2-3 weeks. It was awesome. Never had to worry about Bluetooth issues or fiddling with a phone connection. And the clarity of music straight from cds with my premium nakamichi sound system, there was no loss or degradation of sound like you get from MP3’s. Those were the days!!!

In your case so much for Consumer Reports rating the NX the most reliable SUV and J D Power rating Lexus #1 nine of the last ten years and second the other year in dependability.

This is true. Of all the cars I’ve ever owned Toyota / Lexus have been the most reliable. But still get the extended warranty.
1200 dollars for 2 additional years of coverage. So for just 1.64 a day. You will sleep better knowing whatever your issue is. You just have to drop the keys on the desk and drive away in a loaner. No muss no fuss
Usually, the cost of a vehicle's extended warranty indicates the cost for out of pocket non-routine maintenance. The higher the warranty cost, the more it cost to repair the car on average. I can vouch for Land Rover's less than stellar reliability record as I had a Jaguar F-Pace that was nothing but trouble. The extended warranty for the Jag was also triple the price of the Lexus.

I get your frustration. Sorry to hear it. But I’d point out it really is a #covid problem. Global supply chains are backed up in every industry. The planet is a mess. If you’d bought the car a year prior, say, and were driving it regularly, and ran into the same kind of problem, I’m sure it would’ve been fixed in a heartbeat. The issue you’re encountering, on the whole, doesn’t sound so much a Lexus/Toyota-specific problem as an economic problem. And in this economy a few weeks wait for an overseas shipment isn’t awful.
I will also add that every manufacturer does have quality issues. Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura are probably the best, but no one is perfect. I’ve had a long run of European cars and they’ve all been trouble, a 2004 Saab 95 the worst, though a 2020 VW Tiguan wasn’t far behind and it was lemon-lawed. I also once had a leased Toyota Highlander with bad electronics that the dealer couldn’t fix. But unlike Saab and VW and my mediocre Audis, Toyota corporate worked with that dealer to cancel that lease and get me into a different identical car, no months lemon law conflict.
In nearly 40 years of car ownership I’ve finally realized I don’t want to spend my time at dealer service departments and indy mechanics. I just want a really nice lux car that drives well enough, with good dealer support. So Lexus.
