Terribly disappointed
This is true. Of all the cars I’ve ever owned Toyota / Lexus have been the most reliable. But still get the extended warranty.
1200 dollars for 2 additional years of coverage. So for just 1.64 a day. You will sleep better knowing whatever your issue is. You just have to drop the keys on the desk and drive away in a loaner. No muss no fuss

Funny Dorsai!
But seriously, RXWes, I’m not really sure about extended warranties on cars, Japanese or Euro. Maybe on a Euro car if it was inexpensive and from the manufacturer. But on a Euro car it would never be inexpensive. On an aftermarket warranty like Car Shield or some such, I think you’ll be forever arguing with them for reasonable payout. And on a Toyota/Lexus I really see no need for it. Anything significant that’s a defect is going to go wrong during the original warranty period. Anything beyond that is maintenance, and on these cars it’s just not over-the-top expensive that you can’t stay ahead of the warranty cost. If you’re that concerned about major repairs, start putting putting $30-50/month in an envelope when you buy your Lexus, new or used. In 5 years of ownership I’d bet your ahead of the extended warranty cost (on repairs not maintenance, which isn’t covered by the warranty).
I purchased my brand new Lexus NX 300 last year. Because of covid, I have barely had an opportunity to drive since I've been home. Now that I have the chance to drive, my blue tooth and radio stops working. I was driving, listening to my tunes, and the sound shuts off. I thought maybe someone was using my Spotify at home, so I try for the radio.. Nothing! It says it's playing, but there's no sound. I take it in to get it serviced and to find out what's going on. They tell me I need a new part and that it would be a week. A week goes by no call to come back in. So I call they tell me the 24th now "because of covid" and that the part is not here in North America. I have to wait until October to get my part. Never have I ever had this problem with any of my used cars, and now I'm spending all this money on a brand new high-end vehicle that isn't even giving me the full value. I'm so very annoyed and disappointed.
