Unhappy dealer fees

I am just about to buy a Lexus. I was told by a dealer that the price is not negotiable and he gave me list of additional fees :
* tire/ battery / MVWEA $10
* tag agency fee $170
* tag/registration fee $ 600
* dealer service fee $ 850
Which of the fees can be negotiable/ dropped?

They all sound to me like made up fees designed to pad the dealer's profit. The only one that may be partially legitimate is the portion of the "tag/registration" fee that might actually be whatever your state charges to register a car.

Also, if they are telling you that there are no negotiations on the price of the car, I would suggest finding a different Lexus dealer to buy from.

What region?

Tire disposal or AC tax is a normal fee in some regions, some sort of registration cost is normal, and some sort of PDI/Freight is normal.

The rest is usually garbage and if they can't take them off, tell them that they need to give you an additional discount in the amount of the fees to offset it or go somewhere else.

Don' know what the first one is. The next two are state fees and not negotiable. The dealership will tell you the dealer service fee is not which might be true but it just means they will have to negotiate down the price of the car. This is pure profit. I once offered them no dealer fee and I will go down to DMV and do the paper work. They take loads of these down there at one time by a low level employee and produce one nice profit. The first time a dealer charged a dealer processing fee many years ago it was $100.

The $850 dealer service fee is definitely negotiable

The total price is negotiable? Negotiate with several dealers and take it from there.

My dealer spent just a few minutes on the computer and processed the DMV registration. These fees are just profit if you pay it. Negotiate a total price, including all fees.

FL has outrageous dealer fees without any state regulation.
