i have recently become the proud owner of an NX F Sport 2016. I tried to pair my phone multiple times including removing it completely and re adding, shutting down the phone, trying other phones, pairing mine with another car etc.

The audio works and picks up my iPhone and I can listen to music etc. The phone will not connect and says microphone not connected or error with microphone.

is there anything I can do or would it be covered under the warranty? I bought the car one week ago from the dealer.

Disconnect your vehicle's battery for about 10 minutes. When everything boots back up, it should initialize the microphone.

 

Battery pull is a good start, you will lose most pairings and memory settings. The electronics including
the microphone are covered under the 4 year/50K miles warrantee, how many miles are on your new wheels?

 

Mileage 35000 I have a one year warranty from the 30/1/20 too.

There is some issues with mic and audio thru CarPlay or bluetooth with iOS 13 on some iPhones. It seems to be fix with latest update iOS 13.3.1, make sure to update if not already done

 

It worked until iOS v13.2.3 (the version that introduced this bug) on November 18. It took Apple two public releases to fix it (v13.3 in which it was still an issue and v13.3.1 which fixed the issue). It was fixed back on the January 14 pre-release version of v13.3.1 (beta 2) and publicly released as v13.3.1 after beta 3 on January 28.

 

As the car was under warranty I decided to take it to the dealers rather than attempting it myself. Dropped it off yesterday and the had a call this morning to say the microphone is missing. Weird!

they will be ordering the part and will fix it when it comes. Should be covered under the warranty.

 

Your car may have been previously owned by one of those conspiracy theorists that thinks the government (or Lexus?) is spying on them. Same owner probably tapes over the webcam on their PC.

 

You car is probably one of those “Built on Friday” cars. 😮
