While at a complete stop I pressed the gas to accelerate and almost nothing happened. The car did begin to accelerate eventually but it was extremely slow. I released the gas and switch the car from Economy to Sport and that seemed to cure the issue. This has happened on several occasions now. Today it happened immediately after a hard brake (I live in Florida and no one knows how to drive here).
Has anyone had this problem? It also happened once as I was turning thru a busy intersection and I thought I was going to get T Boned.
Normal, especially in eco...throttle response is slowed, transmission doesn't downshift as eagerly to get you into the power band quickly AND there's a turbo to spool up before you get decent power.
I just drive in sport all the time, never bother with eco/normal....the fuel economy differences are negligable.
Did you accidentally engage the snow mode button? I’ve used it a couple times and I would describe it as trying to accelerate from a stop in second gear.

There is a snow mode? I don’t have one in my 2019.
It reduces throttle response which is pretty much what snow mode does to prevent wheel spin. It's not exactly the same but it's close enough.
I disagree. It is my understanding that the snow mode was designed to “control” wheel spin. It makes use of anti-lock brakes if it detects spinning. It does not merely reduce throttle response, although that is clearly part of the eco mode programming.

Wheel spin is mitigated by traction control (brakes) in all modes. Snow mode reduces throttle response to prevent wheel spin.

Snow Mode will Reduce Throttle Response as well as put the transmission into Second Start if the vehicle does not feature a button specifically for enabling it. For example my 2020 GX does not have a snow button, but does have a button labeled [2nd Start] that will always start the car in second gear from a stop to reduce the chance of slip / wheel spin occurring.

Correct! In my old RX350 snow mode activated transmission start in second gear, to reduce torque. This was to minimize wheel spin due to low traction.
