Default Daylight savings setting question

I have 2018 NX300. I was puzzled about the Daylight savings setting. My clock did not get adjusted automatically when I set ON for Daylight savings. I need to turn Daylight saving OFF manually each time to get the correct time when daylight savings start or end. Can someone kindly tell me should I set ON or OFF to let system to adjust the clock automatically? Thanks.

I did not read the Owner's Manual of my 2016 NX200t to see if there is a function to turn Daylight Saving On or Off. However, on the analog clock there are 2 buttons, left and right that I played with, and found that if I keep pressing one for more than a couple seconds, one will move (the big hand ) clockwise, the other counterclockwise. This way I was able to turn back the clock 1 hour, then keep pressing the other if I went over that intended minutes to the correct minutes.

I don't know if your 2018 NX300 clock is any different, though.

The setting's wording is kind of misleading, DST on means turn the clock forward one hour and off = set back one hour. It does not mean auto adjustment on and off. There is no auto adjustment option on the NX.

That's a bummer. Even my 2009 Acura TSX can do auto DST. Thanks for the info.

I had to change it in the settings menu on my 2019.

In my 2020, there is an option for automatic DST.

I know you only need doing this twice a year, but I just cannot believe I am still doing this for 2018 vechicle. Lexus good job.

This is the correct answer, just go to menu and pick off or on and your good to go.

Does that mean the 2020 NX has a new control module that can handle the auto DST.

As far as I know 2020 has gen 11. My 2018 is gen 10.

Interesting. I don't know which generation is in the 2019 ES, but the DST option merely turns it on or off, not automatically adjust. I had DST turned on in the menu and yet the time didn't adjust automatically. The instructions Lexus sent as a reminder e-mail stated you have to turn it on/off in the menu when the time changes, so that is what I did. The analog clock rolls back an hour when you turn it off. Of course, this is the ES rather than the NX but it does make me wonder why it doesn't work the same for the newer generation NXs?

Beside the auto DST, the new head unit also has apple carplay.

It actually might do that in the 2020 NXs because I didn't see any physical buttons to adjust the analog clock in the 2020 I test drove a week or so ago. My current '17 IS has two physical buttons on either side of the clock for adjustment.

Same with my 2017 NX F-Sport, but on my older RX we had to select DST on or off in menu.

Many states in USA are now pushing for year-round daylight saving time...but probably not just so we won't have to make that exhausting manual change to our clock twice a year.
