Default Some people...

car is 2 months old and someone backs into the front end and takes off. broke the grille surround, grille and dented the passenger side fascia plus pulled the paint completely off in a couple spots. I am more than pissed! the nerve of people never ceases to amaze me. getting an estimate tomorrow to see what its gonna cost me. I would post pics but the ones I have don't show much and I aint taking any more now. its raining here pretty good.

That sucks. I've had that happen before.

Sorry about your bad luck. People can be jerks. Probably an old pickup truck with no insurance. Hurts on any car you care about but one only two months old would be especially painful. A good repair shop can make it look like new - but some of the “pearl” colors can be tricky to paint. Good luck with your repairs and keep us posted.

You could be this guy. I'm a member on the Porsche Rennlist board and member there posted pics from guy in a rental truck taking out 4 cars in stop and go traffic because he was texting while driving.

Sorry to hear that. Been there, and it sucks.

Any reason why you aren't using insurance to cover it?

I might, just depends on what the estimate is. Insurance will cover it for sure, but wanna see if I can just pay for it.

Dashcam would have easily nabbed the crook. Must have these days with all the crazy stuff going on in the world..Should be standard imho like a rear view camera..

Almost $1800 worth of damage! So insurance is picking up the tab on this one. The grille/surround alone is almost $850! Wow! Who would have though?

Yeah a dash cam would have caught them. But after my quote this morning I was able to clean up the spots some. I buffed the paint out, so thats now not a problem. But the 2 dents in the front bumper cover and broken grille are. Oh, and I hit a bird. I removed some pieces of him while cleaning it up. So in this case, a dash cam wouldn't help. But at least now I know what happened. lol
