I just changed the oil in my 18 NX by draining all the old oil by waiting until even the small drops stop. Then changed the filter. I added about 5.2 qts of Amazon basics oil. I drove around until operating temperatures then parked on a level surface and waited 15 min to check the level and for leaks. I understand the dipstick is picking up oil from the sides of the dipstick tube and I usually go with the side that has less oil on it but I'm my old car I've never had such a big difference in levels on the dipstick. Am I checking something wrong?
Second picture is what you want to go by as it has that little "arch" to keep the sides from being in contact with oil around the surrounding of the dipstick tube to allow accurate reading.
