i didn't know that lexus are so vulnerable to theft until a friend of mine had lost his new nx300.

I would say they are as vulnerable as any other luxury car. They have a lot of theft deterrents built in, but if someone wants it there is nothing you can do to stop them. Especially, the pro's, a lot of times the car is towed so not much you can do there.

 

Don't waste time and money on installing hillbilly useless pieces of metal onto your car.
Get engine or fuel pump neutralizing switch installed somewhere hidden, that's about best bet.
As gompka said - if they really want your car, they will bring impounder truck and simply tow it away.
Btw, trasnponder keys can be very easily transmitted to a baddie hundreds feet away.
Either way - if they want it, they will get it.
