Welp, the day has come.

Yesterday the NX was traded in for my new 4Runner. While I had my gripes about the NX, it was an overall decent vehicle, just not near the space I've ended up needing. It's funny, the dealer told me when I ordered mine in December, another customer was making the exact same swap for similar reasons. Guess we all just love the appearance of the NX, and it sucks you in haha.

Either way, I appreciated my time here, and while several of us didn't agree from time to time, I enjoyed the conversation.

I'll probably still float around as I await Lexus to fix the RC-F and perhaps redeem themselves by supercharging it (Camaro is paid off soon....need a new project car)

Good luck everybody!

I was considering the 4Runner too before I decided on the NX as I love the tough and classic look of it. But I cared not for its size and thirst as a daily driver in our situation. Enjoy your new 4Runner!

We don't get the 4Runner here in Australia. Is it as big as a Mercedes GL/GLS?

Yeah, the gas mileage thing has been a night and day thing. My typical drive to work is 27-28mpg, and this morning during break in, I'm seeing 15mpg. However, that was an improvement over the 14.5 I saw yesterday lol

That blows my mind that they don't offer the 4Runner in Australia. If anything, I think they would make sure to offer it to the "outback" (Sorry for the stereotype lol)

And to answer you question, yes, they are similar in size. However, MB offers more powerful engines. For the 4Runner, you're only given the 4.0L V6 at 278hp.

Enjoy the 4Runner Swacer, and hope to see you around, you are full of useful (and some not so useful) information.

I had a 4Runner before my current Prius, was a great car, was a 1996 model had it for almost 10 years, no issue to speak of. Only reason I had it was to tow snowmobiles, got out of that so ditched the 16-20MPG for the 50+ MPG of the Prius!

Swacer, enjoy your new ride. I seldom see 4runner in red and they look great. Thanks for the insights you put in this forum. They are helpful.

Swacer, congrats and good luck!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they give you on your trade?

Got $37.5k for the trade plus over 10% off MSRP. I got out the door (tax title and all) for over $2k below the MSPR of the truck.

I believe you've owned your NX about 10 months, I'm curious if $37K is over- or under-valued?

Were you "under water" with the car (assuming it was financed)?

$37k was right at the KBB for excellent condition, so most would give you an auction value that was worse.

Had a tick over 12,000 miles on it when I traded it as well.

And no way...I never play it that way...still had money left after the payoff to add to the downpayment.

Damn Swacer, Congrats on the new ride, and basically you got a steal on the trade in.

KBB Excellent condition`s low value on a fully equipped F sport with 13k is about 37K while on Edmunds its 33K.

Awesome deal and guessing ih8mud time?

Yeah, I had them lock my trade price when I was at 8,500 miles. I don't mess around with changing numbers as time goes on. Its not my fault that it took 11 weeks for the 4R to arrive, so I put 3500 extra miles on it lol

I seem to be spending a lot of time on the Toyota-4runner.org site. Got a lot to learn lol
