We might be getting another recall...
I do like my HS250 Premium but this is getting out of hand. I would not have bought this car because of the hassles. While I'm sure they will find a fix, just taking it into a dealer and having to spend half a day just to do that even if they give you a loaner is a hassle for me. My dealer is 1.5 hours away from me, so it's not going to be easy.

50mph is not a simple rear end crash. The same test was conducted prior to the vehicles release and it passed. The question is what's changed?
At least two things about this come to mind. The first is loss of resale value. If one wanted to trade or sell your HS250h right now, it would either be next to impossible to do so or not take a major beating on it
. The other aspect about it is whether Toyota/Lexus is being extra cautious about their cars due to the events of the last 6-9 months

Good god...it has NOT been a good year for Toyota. Their stellar record for quality and reliability is definitely taking a hit....
Given that they haven't identified a fix for this problem, I'm not sure why they expect owners to bring their cars in (unless they give me a new LS in exchange)...

. After all, they apparently did for the GX460's rollover problem.
I call the 800# today. I asked if Lexus will take the car back. He said that Lexus will give you a car till they have a solution BUT at this time they have not issued a turn in policy. The problem is perception on the hs250. Floor mats is one thing and explosion is another. Resale value in a few years spells $0.00 on the low end.
All hs250 owners have a problem and this could take a CLASS ACTION. So much for being GREEN!

Class action lawsuits only benefit the law firms who make millions or billions. You'd probably get a coupon for "x" amount off the price of any new Lexus. Unless there's a subsequent "cure" for the problem, I'm thinking buy-back
