Default Auto window down

i can't seem to use the key fob to get the windows down, and the app doesn't have the option either. On our IS, we would hold down on the unlock button and it rolls down.

Am I missing something?

You have to have the dealer activate the setting.

Or get an OBD2 adapter and buy the Carista app (IOS.Android) and do it yourself!

Disclaimer: I am only a user of this awesome app; I have no financial interest in it whatsoever.

It was standard to be enabled along with key in the driver's door roll up until 2010.
It is now available to be enabled by the techs at no charge at the first maintainance
visit. Seems that folks were inadvertently rolling down the windows by leaning on
the fobs. Variations include just opening the windows, opening the windows and also
the sunroof or windows and vent the sunroof.

it's a great novelty but I find that it's a feature that would rarely use.

I had it on my 2012 camry which I owned for almost 4 years and I can count on one hand how many times I actually used it.

If I want to cool the car I find it better just to use the remote start.

I personally use the window closing feature all the time on my cars. But then again, most of the recent US-market Lexus models don't support that, so that doesn't really apply.

But I'd say the ability to open the windows via the remote is useful too - say when you're leaving the car parked, but you want to crack open each window for some ventilation before you lock it... or when you're walking toward it on a hot day and you want to use the extra 20 sec for the hot air to get out of the greenhouse... I mean car

About enabling it: you can do it with our app (unlimited lifetime customizations for $19.99 for the app and some more for the hardware, depending on which hardware you choose) or wait for your 5k service at the dealer and have them do it for free once. They usually charge an hour's rate each time they change settings afterwards.

Is it possible to use Carista to program the REMOTE to close all windows and sunroof by pressing lock 5 seconds? I know it's possible with the physical key but it would be much more useful with the remote...

That is not a setting in the Carista app. The Carista settings are merely those in the Lexus Personalized Settings which, without the Carista app, are modified by the dealer.

The Jam Proof mechanism works as long as the switch is
NOT being held. Try it (really) by lifting the inside switch
and releasing, watch as the window/sunroof is closing
and insert a hand (owners manual if you doubt it) and it
will stop and reverse slightly.
Having said that, if someday a panhandler or thug is trying
to reach through a open window you should HOLD the
button up and it will close forcefully. With all of that in mind,
any system that might remotely close the windows/sunroof
would be equivalent to holding the switch and could really
cause harm to an unseen object caught in the opening.
