Default Venza vs NX

Just curious...
Has anyone brought up about the comparisons of the Venza vs NX?
There's been mentioned the NX would dip into the RX sales....but what about the Venza sales?

Nah, totally not in the same class. Venza is a mid-size crossover "wagon" which competes with the likes of the Ford Edge. Within the Toyota family, one can argue it to loosely compete against the Highlander, but nowhere near the compact NX.

We have a 2009 Venza AND a 2014 RX350 and the differences in comfort and drive-ability are night and day. The Venza is loaded with features, and there are several things I like better than the RX (mostly dash features and a spot for your cell phone). But the NX looks like it will be priced higher than a Venza and only slightly lower (when fully loaded) than an RX - this makes sense - so that Lexus does not lose money and market share if people buy an NX instead of an RX.

I like the venza, but it doesn't compete with the NX or RX.
wife likes the lexus RX. Since the car will be hers (95% of the time), I got her what she wanted (RX350).

I currently have a 2014 Venza V6. I've driven a family member's 2013 RX and test driven the new NX. As said above, the NX and RX are in a completely different class. However, the Venza is full of features for its price and is a great crossover. As I note in another post, we had to stick with the Venza because of the ease of ingress and egress due to the lower step-in height. The only thing I don't quite like about the Venza is the poor quality interior (way too many panels and mismatched pieces that creak, feel and look cheap).

That was exactly why we traded it years back otherwise an excellent stylish family hauler, though next time I would have bought the AWD as I found the FWD wheels slipped easily and torque steer was prominent with the V6 power.

Same can be said of the RX FWD from my own experiences.
