Maybe I missed an older thread on this forum but I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet (at least in popular threads).

In all the reviews I've read so far (almost all that can be found on the Internet), most have skipped the part where they detail their impressions, or more, of the AWD system on the NX. I know the NX is no Land Rover Evoque by any means when it comes to anything besides tarmac but I was curious if it'll use the same system from the current Toyota RAV4. I haven't been able to find any video footage of promotional events displaying how the AWD system might work on the NX.

Ironically, a little bit before when the current generation Toyota RAV4 went on sale, promotional events had some minor off-road courses but didn't show much about the capabilities (and limits) of that AWD system.

One item to note is that (I believe) there would actually be two different 4x4 systems (if it's like the RX or HiHy) as the Hybrid's only have an electric motor at the rear for that portion of the 4x4. Ours has worked very well even in fairly heavy snow (15-inches). I've heard others state that their electric-based 4x4 systems would not do anything in 2 & 3-foot deep events. We will not be buying a 4x4 this time as we no longer need it and the wife wants the better fuel economy that is possible from the 2WD veriant.

AmerOna, to add to bunka, the 200t AWD hardware is derived from the RAV4's. Ground clearance and track are nearly identical and wheelbase is the same so one can check the RAV4's capability to get a sense of what to expect of the NX's. Of course, the NX weighs 400-500 lbs more so that will also play a role...

The 300h's is electic motors-based (no axle going to the rear for power transfer) similar in design to the Highlander and RX450h.

Right. I was just hoping given the NX will receive a turbocharged motor that the AWD setup in that trim might be a bit different than the current RAV4.

Can you tell us where you obtained the basic cost information?

Is there a web site where it's listed for the U.S. ?

We appreciate the information you posted but would like to know more.

Thanks

TsopranoMB is a Master tech at Lexus and he pre ordered a USB NX fSport, so source is credible!

Thank you for the base. It's nice to see that they kept the price of the entry-level Hybrid under $40K. Would you happen to have details on what is included in the base 300h? Looks like it's $710 less than the ES300h's starting price. Hopefully, it is similar to the ES300h that comes standard with heated/ventilated seats and such. Could you also post the costs of the individual packages so we can figure out what one configured as we would like may MSRP for? Thanks in advance

The middle Luxury package for the ES is $5,729 which (if applicable) could be applied to the NX in an identical cost would put the NX300h that we would want to come in @ $45,449 before destination, tax, title, etc so not great but also not bad so it looks like we will keep our planned demo ride set for Friday
