NX sales should fall right into the thick of the luxury compact CUV sales.

Here are YTD 2014/ Total 2013 sales in the U.S for the main competition:

Q5 8,774/40,335
X3 10,430/30,623
GLK 8,271/32,563

May be like CT200h - Europe gets ML and US gets "premium"... while they are likely same systems?

Not sure what the NX target/goal. I don't expect it to be huge as the RX is still the volume suv. I'm thinking 24k a year but they will surpass that.

Also will be interesting to see how much RX cannibalization happens.

I can't believe that the GLK is that close to the Q5 in sales. I've driven and been in both... Q5 is head and shoulders, night and day, a better vehicle than the GLK. I guess that three pointed star is always worth something...

sales depend on the pricing... if it is priced good enough, it can easily sell more than the competition. Since it is made in Japan, and RX is local, who knows.

It looks like Sport+ will be offered. Makes me wonder how sporty the NX will drive.

Europe and Japan seem to get tons of options that we can only dream of in the States

yep, for sure... but we pay for them too... i think average US buyer would not, we had some discussions earlier in this thread and people said they wouldnt pay more than $45k for it... well then you cant have everything.

i noticed this long time ago, people in US buy "loaded"... if "loaded" costs too much, then they buy something else... so Lexus is artificially limiting "loaded" price.

Definitely. I just wish that Lexus had an option of having an ordering process similar to the German makes that provide tons of customization. I'm sure LexFather is loving his new LS F-Sport, but he was crushing hard on that red interior!

It looks like there is a + in the pic you posted. Plus Vh posted earlier that steering and suspension were going to be adjustable. Could this be the making for the best handling FWD SUV?

For 2013 the GLK got a much improved interior and an upgraded engine. It now offers a (4 cyl) diesel. I guess those things are probably boosting sales.

Audi has much smaller network and a lot less sales than MB overall... so if Q5 does better than GLK, thats big sucess for them.

I noticed the same thing in that article about adjusting throttle, steering, suspension. I then also noticed the Sport S/S+ (or what appears to be from the blurry image). We may actually get this in N. America like the IS as it could be a "global" feature... we never know.

Regarding the fender cladding... it may be simple enough to remove it if it bugs some people. I'm on the fence about its looks. Maybe the contrasting Sonic White against all the black trim on the F-Sport doesn't help as opposed to a darker color... Lexus, please show us different darker colors/pictures of an F-Sport at Beijing besides White or Atomic Silver!

Do you mean 2IS or 3IS? For 2IS, it started with red courtesy light in 2006 and a few years ago when they did the mid-cycle changes, they switch to clear where other Lexus models got introduced during the time period received the clear one. Personally I prefer clear one as you could switch to white LED with better illumination on the ground when you need it.
