Waze volume low using CarPlay

I cannot find how to increase the spoken direction volume when the iPhone is plugged into CarPlay. The volume control on the phone is turned all the way up and the Waze directions is almost a whisper.

Open the Waze menu (3-line icon, upper left corner) and then Settings.
Open Voice and Sound and slide up the Guidance Volume.
Oh, be sure to try an alternate voice or two under Waze voice...
