Key FOB Programming turned off features?
Hi Everyone, first time Lexus owner and first post here. I’m hoping someone can point me in any direction besides the dealership again.
I hired a locksmith to program a second key FOB today and after he was done both my original key FOB that worked perfectly and the second one no longer worked outside of the car. When either key is inside the car the engine starts, and if I leave a key inside the car I get the “key inside vehicle” alert.
however they don’t seem to be detected outside of the car. The push buttons to lock/unlock/alarm don’t function and when I’m standing at the door the touch lock/unlock feature doesn’t work either. A few other things I noticed were that the mirrors don’t automatically tuck in when I lock it, the climate control doesn’t turn on automatically, the infotainment system doesn’t display with the settings I previously set.
The locksmith was stumped. In his scanner device the door touch features showed as “off” but didn’t know what that meant (disabled or inactive?) or how to change it. Could it be a weak 12V battery?
