Eh, it pretty much passed me now. They said it was coming over me but it shifted west, more towards the Ct. NY. border. No damage to anything of mine except a few tiny branches on the car but out my window I can see 2 big trees down the street on a house. I haven't gone out yet to check the neighborhood, it's still pretty windy, but I seen on the news parts of my town flooded. (small rivers became big lakes) Unlike sojah (cold shower) I was smart enough
to take a shower early today, before it hit, incase we lost power for the water heater. The power never went out, yet. This wasn't anywhere near as bad as Gloria back in '85, although, I wasn't driving down at the shore during this hurricane.
We're still gonna get more wind I guess. Well, hope everyone that went through it is OK and good luck to everyone who is still experiencing it.

glad you all are good and glad you got a shower in that was hot.
i had to take another cold shower this morning. still no power. we are straight but we have a lot, let me emphasize that we have a lot of old people in my community (thought it was 65+ only when we first looked at it
) and a few of them are so rich and old that they seem to be having a hard time dealing with the loss of power thus far.
the refrigerators are basically done now and are not even cool, but we jammed a big *** bag of ice in our freezer and it is still keeping everything frozen, cept for all the ice cream cuz i didn't want it to go bad so we ate it all already... and i didn't want the beer to go bad either so i had to drink all that yesterday too...
couldn't ask for much better weather to have though if the power is gonna be out. it was a little warm last night but got nice and cool this a.m. so far.
i read a lot in the day time but tried to read again by candle light and halfway down the page i couldn't even make it out and almost burned the book trying to get it close to the candle to make out the words. then my wife tried to do the same and ended up spilling wax all over the table, carpet, my leg, my phone, and everywhere else. finally gave up trying to clean up wax in the dark while intoxicated and waited till this morning to clean it up.
sorta hope the lights come back on before dark but the power company (BGE) told my neighbor that it prolly won't be till tomorrow.... grrrrr..... we have lots of food (non perishable) and the water still works which is very nice so i consider us pretty fortunate.

Oh yeah, beer and ice cream.
I over protected everything, I made 7 gallons of ice to keep the food cold. Being single
ALL my food is frozen TV dinners. I was thinking, if I needed to eat w/o power, I could use my kerosene heater in an emergency. But I would have been screwed, I remembered today, there's no wick in it.
Luckily everything went good for me and I'm one of the fortunate ones, I have power.
Begin rant
The thing that pisses me off is all those people that are complaining that the reporters, politicians, and forecasters blew it out of purportion and over "hyped" it. They're b****ing b/c they were told to evacuate and now they find out they didn't need to. SO WHAT, you're alive. Some people needed to get out and are very happy they did. Look at Long Island Sound, both Ct and NY. I know in Ct it got hammered on the sound and if people didn't leave, I don't even want to think about it. Imagine how many more people would have died if they didn't leave thier homes.
And then ya got these friggin IDIOTS that are told to leave or noone is going to be able to get in to save them when they need to be saved, and they stay. Then people gotta risk thier lives going in to rescue them when they call for help.
