Another idea.. LASER TAG!!!
What do you think guys? I know it may seem a little kiddish or chuckee cheesyyy but why not? looks like something to do on a boring saturday or sunday afternoon.. the one in annandale takes up to 60 players at one time!!!!!
I'm in for Laser Tag, paintball, or a real shooting range.
Laser Tag, like the Go-Karting here in VA, are good winter events (because they're indoors!)
I like the idea of a shooting range but, for those not equipped, that can get really expensive really fast (gun rental, ammo, range time, eye protection, ear protection, targets)

Good idea on laser tag or paintball.
For those considering a "real" shooting range...I would suggest sporting clays or trap and skeet, nothing like seeing those clay's disintegrate. Rentals are fairly inexpensive and so are shells since shot gun besides it alot of fun. There is a public range at Bull Run Park and a semi public one in southern VA where Ms Linda "Wonder Woman" Carter practices for those old enough to remember who she is.

Laser Tag ehhhhh for me there has to be a pain incentive.
Paintball
• Paintball is OK but expen$ive and messy. I used to play A LOT. I would go if NELOC was doing a private game though. Good area fields are in Jessup, MD; Taneytown, MD; Bowie, MD; Rosedale, MD; Leesburg, VA and Locust Grove, VA
Real Steel Shooting
• Shotgun Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays are fun. Wobble trap is especially fun for those new to the sport. Bull Run is a great place to shoot although it is VERY crowded on the weekends. You can rent over/unders or semi-autos there. A round of 25 birds with a gun rental will cost you about $20-30 (depending on which type gun you rent and how much you tip your Puller)
•Indoor Ranges around NoVA are 'OK'.
~ The NRA range (in the garage of the NRA building of Rte 66) is the best around here. 12 Lanes 50 yd. you must pass a basic written test to shoot here. I think it is $18 per person per lane per hour. No Gun Rentals available. You can shoot hi-power rifle here. I like this range because the 'red shirts' keep everything VERY safe here.
~Blue Ridge Arsenal is an option but this is more of a "if you can pay you can shoot' range. Safety is not as good as the NRA range and the lanes are darker and less well kept. $20 person/lane/hour. Gun rentals ARE available here.
My suggestion for the group is Indoor Airsoft for the following reasons:
• Cheaper than Paintball
~ Airsoft $20 field fee + $20 Gun rental w/ 1,000 rounds = $40
~ Pev's Paintbal $25 field fee + $25 gun rental w/ 500 rounds + $15 for 500 MORE rounds = $65
• Airsoft guns are 1:1 replicas of their real world counterparts. Paintball guns are ..... well .. paintball guns
That said there are two indoor facilities for Airsoft: AirsoftCQB.com in Manassas and TacticalAirsoftArena.com in Rockville. The paintball fields in Bowie, MD; Rosedale, MD; Taneytown, MD; and Locust Grove, VA host outdoor airsoft play.
If you guys wanna play paintball OR airsoft let me know and I'll see what I can do about getting a NELOC group rate.
