Suspension Problem?
Hi I own a 2004 Lexus IS 300 (Sport Design) I lowered the car with Tein S springs. The car was fine for about 3 weeks and then all of the sudden i started feeling a shakyness coming from the right front tire, so i took the car for an allignment and was told that the car did not need one and it does not pull to either side. I put 4 new tires and still doing it. I took it to the dealer and they said that i need factory tires on it and it will stop. I think thats BS. Can anyone give me an idea. I feel that the car has lost some handleling and does not feel tight enough in sharp cornering. Still have factory 17" rims but not factory tires. ANY have an idea. All considerations will be appreciated. Can bad shocks cause this. My car only has 40K. The dealer fully inspected the car. looked for loose nuts, faulty bushings and motor mounts, but no problems. I also had the tires balanced. Im really worried at the fact that i cant fix this problem

Anytime you modify suspension you need an alignment. The person that told you otherwise is completely wrong. You def need to get an alignment ASAP especially if you drive a lot. If the this does not fix the problem check for lose nuts and bolts and have the tire balance checked.

I have had a lot of friends of mine install springs one their stock shocks and blown them out within a few weeks. Now my advice to you is to check every suspension compent and see if it is any bushings as 98lexls just said, or if it is the shock itself. The way I would check and see if it is the shock, take off the spring, then see if you can compress the shock with little effort. If you can compress the shock with little effort then the shock is blown. Everyone here is right about one thing though, with any drop you will need a alignment. Tires could affect the ride if recently replaced, different tires handle either worse or better then the stock tires. Good luck with finding an answer.
my car drove straight after the springs, when i got the spec sheet back after allignment, my toe was off horribly on both sides. camber and caster were surprisingly in spec. get the allignment
