NYC First Roundtable Meet - Reflections, comments, etc...
Hahah. You guys left me behind!! I went in circles on the BQE and exit 23 - 27 LOL. I've never been in NYC alone, so it was really confusing o.o Philly, I love your interior! Want to trade? lol
Well guys, I dont know about anyone else, but I personally feel it was a great start towards mending whatever ails NELOC presently. Of course each and every aspect is still not perfect, but we walked away with some great input.
I can't remember each and every persons input but I have a few comments:
GSOUP / OHHPAPI44 / TRUCKN - My hats are off to you guys for your efforts today. If NOTHING else it demonstrates your sincerity and dedication to improving NELOC on the whole. I left church to come to the meet, and I SWEAR when trukn started talking, I thought he was going to pull out a Bible and straight PREACH!! lol Felt like I was in church again. TRUKN has a new nickname, The Minister!!! LOL
APEX84 - Really appreciate your input and efforts to keep us on a positive track.
NEWER MEMBER THAT MADE CHARITY MENTION - I'm sorry I can't remember your name offhand, but I really think these are the types of things that will build comraderie within the group. Coming together to hang out, talk cars and make a positive impact. It furthers my point that no matter what age, there can be excellent contributions made by EVERYONE.
DASHOCKER- Whats up my man?? It got a little tense out there today, but I understand exactly what your overall point was, the need for respect, acceptance of others, new ideas, and a less combative atmosphere. You may not believe this bro, but thats exactly what everyone else was feeling and even voiced before you came. I think we were saying the same things but different ways. Of course there will always be personal issues from time to time, but those can even be ironed out. I hope for the sake of the team any small rifts can be mended and we can get back to chillin and having fun.
D-MAN Like you said bro, we are like grandfathers around this place now huh? I feel like we should be wearing adult diapers or something!! lol lol j/k man. Good to see you, car looks super sweet.
CATHAFER / ALISON- I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Your the best, just wanted to say that.
SPIDER87 - Good to see you and speak with you today man, keep doing your thang!! lol
PHILLYGS3 - YO BOBBY!!! Whats up man?? Nice to meet one of my customers (it was funny when you wallked up and said "I know that voice" lol). The wheels look sweet in person, thanks for your business.

hey guys, i wanted to come sooo bad... but i'm up to my eyebrows in work since this morning and am currently still drowning in it.
Glad to hear that some constructive discussion took place. Tony (Truckn), I see the drive was fun for you lol. Did you happen to bring my points up at any given time? I'm assuming Carlos you're gonna edit the first post with the info that you guys amassed, so I eagerly await that.
Sigh... until I get these mods done everyone's pics just depress me lol.

it sucks that the actions of just a few can adjust the whole standing of the crew as a whole. there may be problems within the crew, but there is no need to make a quarrel between 2 or 3 people deter the rest. There are many people in NELOC always willing to give a helping hand, i know that from many first hand experiences. Keep it up guys.
I have no idea what happened, and I can only go off my personal experiences of both people and neither one of them seem to be a knuckle-head. I was actually trying to see if I could get them to talk after the meet but it didn't happen. Maybe another time.
Until then, it was still a great day overall.
I agree, but in all honesty I feel that both parties involved are "good dudes". Somewhere along the line they didn't see eye to eye and I think a simple sit down will put alot of that to bed. Unfortunately when things of that nature are brought out in a public place, then it sort of takes on the characteristics of "airing dirty laundry" and we all smell the stench! lol

I agree with everything that is said, this is definitely one of the best crews out there, and the best part is, from what I saw today in my first CL meet is the level of dedication each and everyone of the members bring to the table in this club. As a newbie myself, I hope to grow into this family on a more personal level and contribute as much as I can for the many wonderful moments that we will continue share together as a tight group of friends. Let's get more meets happening and take things one step at a time, I'm sure with us, anything is possible. NELOC will be better than ever.
It was great meeting everyone, I'm bad with names but after another meet or 2 I'll come around to know u all. lol

As a member who has been around for a while I don't consider myself an OG but I am past the stage of a newb and trying to grow. I want to join with others and tip my hat to Carlos(GSoup) and Cliff(Ohhpapi44) for putting this together. I also want to thank Tony(truckn1) for his inspirational speech.
To bring the overall feeling of what was said at the round table meet would be impossible, everyone who had something to say said it with conviction, enthusiasm and a true desire to see this go somewhere. Hopefully this is the start of us getting back to basics like was said and the progression of NELOC as a whole.
Points Made
Its not just about the cars its about the people behind the cars. We all spend time on the forum and live in the same neighborhoods but do not even know one another, this was becoming evident as the meet progressed and people found out how close they are to one another. The need to put faces to names to meet the people that we talk to online. Something else that was stressed was the fact that we are all on a level playing field no one has anything over anybody. You are in charge of yourself and you should act accordingly and responsibily. The matter of respect was also something stressed, Derrick said it the best "while I may not do what you have done to your car if you like it than I love it." (sorry if I got it wrong Derrick but it was close to that.
) we all have different tastes and rides but constructive criticism has a point, hating on what another person has done with their car is unnecessary and not what NELOC is all about. One of the suggestions made by Carlos was to organize a "point man"/contact person for each of NELOC's areas, this will give us the ability to get each area to have its own meets and to get to know one another in your neighborhood as well as to have the ability to have a central contact to call to find out about meets or for him to call everyone to inform them about a certain meet. Our discussion of random post and their current spike in recent history on NELOC was also discussed and we all had something to say about all of that and hopefully we all take time to think about what we are all writing and its effect. I'm sure that I am forgetting some more points that were brought up and their solutions but I gotta get some sleep.

All in all this was a good meet with a very large turnout. A new foundation was laid to help bring the NY scene back together. But with that said it is now up to all of us regardless of what state you're from to continuely build on this foundation. Remember though there are those who step and volunteer to get things organized, they can't do it on their own so we all need to help by supporting one another. Like Vlad said we are all on the same "level playing field" and all have as much ownership of NELOC as the next regardless if you're a newbie, OG or anything in between. Knowing this, I would like to encourage more new people to become more involved. This is your club as well so take it and run with it. But please look to those who have been here longer for guidance. The change to improve NELOC will certainly not happen over night, but let each meet, show, or whatever be a stepping stone in a positive direction.
Just read through everyone's pots thus far and it's so good to hear the positive comments coming out of it. Congrats to a productive, much needed, positive round table experience for NYC!!
It was fun, like always. good to finally meet the NY crew as a whole. wish i wasn't pressed for time i would've gotten to know everyone a little bit more. anything i could contribute please let me know. Alot of things were said and i'm glad everything came out.
the new guys just haven't seen the best part of the meets yet. The caravan! i love how we break necks.
funny thing is... i still dunno all your names. LOL. but i know your screen names. haha.
