NYC First Roundtable Meet - Reflections, comments, etc...
I can't remember each and every persons input but I have a few comments:
GSOUP / OHHPAPI44 / TRUCKN - My hats are off to you guys for your efforts today. If NOTHING else it demonstrates your sincerity and dedication to improving NELOC on the whole. I left church to come to the meet, and I SWEAR when trukn started talking, I thought he was going to pull out a Bible and straight PREACH!! lol Felt like I was in church again. TRUKN has a new nickname, The Minister!!! LOL
APEX84 - Really appreciate your input and efforts to keep us on a positive track.
NEWER MEMBER THAT MADE CHARITY MENTION - I'm sorry I can't remember your name offhand, but I really think these are the types of things that will build comraderie within the group. Coming together to hang out, talk cars and make a positive impact. It furthers my point that no matter what age, there can be excellent contributions made by EVERYONE.
DASHOCKER- Whats up my man?? It got a little tense out there today, but I understand exactly what your overall point was, the need for respect, acceptance of others, new ideas, and a less combative atmosphere. You may not believe this bro, but thats exactly what everyone else was feeling and even voiced before you came. I think we were saying the same things but different ways. Of course there will always be personal issues from time to time, but those can even be ironed out. I hope for the sake of the team any small rifts can be mended and we can get back to chillin and having fun.
D-MAN Like you said bro, we are like grandfathers around this place now huh? I feel like we should be wearing adult diapers or something!! lol lol j/k man. Good to see you, car looks super sweet.
CATHAFER / ALISON- I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Your the best, just wanted to say that.
SPIDER87 - Good to see you and speak with you today man, keep doing your thang!! lol
PHILLYGS3 - YO BOBBY!!! Whats up man?? Nice to meet one of my customers (it was funny when you wallked up and said "I know that voice" lol). The wheels look sweet in person, thanks for your business.
Glad to hear that some constructive discussion took place. Tony (Truckn), I see the drive was fun for you lol. Did you happen to bring my points up at any given time? I'm assuming Carlos you're gonna edit the first post with the info that you guys amassed, so I eagerly await that.
Sigh... until I get these mods done everyone's pics just depress me lol.
I have no idea what happened, and I can only go off my personal experiences of both people and neither one of them seem to be a knuckle-head. I was actually trying to see if I could get them to talk after the meet but it didn't happen. Maybe another time.
Until then, it was still a great day overall.

Celebrating Lexus & Toyota from Around the Globe
It was great meeting everyone, I'm bad with names but after another meet or 2 I'll come around to know u all. lol
To bring the overall feeling of what was said at the round table meet would be impossible, everyone who had something to say said it with conviction, enthusiasm and a true desire to see this go somewhere. Hopefully this is the start of us getting back to basics like was said and the progression of NELOC as a whole.
Points Made
Its not just about the cars its about the people behind the cars. We all spend time on the forum and live in the same neighborhoods but do not even know one another, this was becoming evident as the meet progressed and people found out how close they are to one another. The need to put faces to names to meet the people that we talk to online. Something else that was stressed was the fact that we are all on a level playing field no one has anything over anybody. You are in charge of yourself and you should act accordingly and responsibily. The matter of respect was also something stressed, Derrick said it the best "while I may not do what you have done to your car if you like it than I love it." (sorry if I got it wrong Derrick but it was close to that.
) we all have different tastes and rides but constructive criticism has a point, hating on what another person has done with their car is unnecessary and not what NELOC is all about. One of the suggestions made by Carlos was to organize a "point man"/contact person for each of NELOC's areas, this will give us the ability to get each area to have its own meets and to get to know one another in your neighborhood as well as to have the ability to have a central contact to call to find out about meets or for him to call everyone to inform them about a certain meet. Our discussion of random post and their current spike in recent history on NELOC was also discussed and we all had something to say about all of that and hopefully we all take time to think about what we are all writing and its effect. I'm sure that I am forgetting some more points that were brought up and their solutions but I gotta get some sleep.
It was a pleasure meeting old faces and new ones and getting to see some of the people that I talk to on the forums but I hope that this meet was a starting point of where we all want NELOC to progress to.
