Default Verizon or T-mobile?

I'm kind of deciding between cell phone services. I am deciding between Verizon and T-Mobile. I have heard good and bad things about both services. Verizon i am told has the best service but i dont think their phones are that nice. T-mobile has better phones but i hear mixed reviews about their service. Which service do you guys think is a better buy.

I prefer t-mobile as their plans are a lot cheaper than Verizon's plans. You can probably find some places that still allow one year contracts with T-mobile; however, with verizon, they're all two year agreements.

As far as reception... Compass.t-mobile.com

check that out. just type in the address and it'll show you a coverage map for your particular area.

I hope that helps.

I had Verizon before I swithched to T-mobile. I think I had every carrier in my lifetime lol. Veizon hits you with so many taxes compared to T-mobile. They probably tax you for the paper the bill is on too I have Blackberry with T-mobile and I have unlimited text, internet, 1000 minutes all for a better price than Verizon, and the service is better

Sprint? if nextels didnt get such horrible service up here in westchester i would have Nextel. Sprint works for me basicly anywhere i go except for when i go to hawaii where i stay is on the far side hidden behind a mountain on the island. I believe my moms got Verizon now. She had AT&T but when they merged with cingular they turned to crap and she switched to verizon. I think verizon is good for her because she doesnt complain to me that her phone doesnt work, which she does for everything else. She works @ 1 Penn Plz in nyc and commutes on metro north every morning and is always on the phone.....even while driving and doesnt use a headset! Cops have snagged her a few times but i guess Verizon has good service since shes always using it.

.....i voted Verizon out of the two.

You can still get a one year contract with Verizon. I had that last year, but changed to a 2 year a few months ago because they have a $100 credit for the purchase of a new phone. I can live with a phone for 2 years. Not a problem for me.

I do agree that the selection of Verizon phones are lacking. They usually only have 2 or 3 good looking phones at a time. The rest of them I think suck. But I mainly buy for the service. A nice phone is an added bonus for me. I have The V Phone(the one with the flip QWERTY board). I love it. My bill is 75 bucks a month. 900 min including VCast. And because a lot of ppl I communicate with have Verizon most of my calls do not waste those 900 minutes.

I have Verizon - a little more pricey and less cool phones than their counterparts but reception is great. I get calls when I am IN the subway!!!!

One other downside to Verizon.. They don't use sim cards. If you buy an expensive phone, you can't use it with any other carrier.

Driving half way across the country and back again,i never have any problems with sprint coverage, except in the boonies where it flips to roaming. I even have my laptop hooked up thru them. I love their coverage area, however, NEVER,EVER, have to call them for service. It leaves alot to be desired. Just anxious to see if they drag Nextel down, service wise, the same way.
