The entire car???

A good job is not going to be cheap. A good body shop will not "tape" parts that do not get painted, they will remove them (for example headlights, foglights, tailights, chrome moldings, etc). Additionally, the would paint front and rear bumpers off of the car.

I would say you're looking at a >$2500 for a quality job! (I have had my car painted several times, but not all at once).

I have to concur with Manny here. Good paint shops take off everything just as Manny mentioned, so not only are you paying for a paint job, you are also paying for a partial disassembly and reassembly of your car. When I had my TTE front lip spoiler installed at a good paint shop, the guy noticed that the bumpers don't match 100% with the body color (Alpine silver) and he asked me if I wanted to paint it to match the body, otherwise the TTE lip spoiler would look slightly different in color against the bumper.

Needless to say when I heard the price to paint the bumper I said no for now. Why, simply because he would need to take off the bumper and that would drive up the price.

1. The best $3000.
2. Good $2000.
3. Fair $1000.

costs include remove and install of parts and dent removal and refinish. lifetime warranty on the paint against fading, cracking, etc.

I guess it would also depend whether or not your are painting car the same color. For changing the color of your car...and doing it right....the engine bay....door jambs...etc....now all come into play which can easily go over $5000!!!!

I'm sure a lot of it depends on the body shop you take it to. Most car dealers that I know charge around 10%-25% MORE than the average body shop down the street but then again, it could also be the other way around. This is only what I know of around my area and my limited amount of time taking my cars to body shops.

I took my car down to a body shop that www.darksidemotoring.com recommended for me which is right down the street from them in Chatsworth, CA.

They charged me $3,000 to put my L-Sportline kit on and paint my whole car except for the hood and roof since they were already in perfect condition. The rest of my car had little dings and scratches here and there and a pretty bad scrape all the way down my passenger side doors from where my EX-wife side swiped a car in the gym parking lot, then came home and thought she could rub it out with an S.O.S pad!!!!! Argggggg!!

Pics coming soon.

LOL, you got that right!!

Feels good to lose 122lbs!!

ALL 122lbs OF HER!!

Now all my money is being channeled from HER to the G4.

In reality, it sucks that I lost her but spending money on my car sure does ease the pain!!

I take it to Mitek in Kitchener. Why in Kitchener? My brother-in-law has an auto repair shop there (he specialises in Mercedes Benz) and the local MB and Bimmer dealers send their cars to Mitek for all their body work related jobs i.e., translation - high quality body work. Plus when my brother in law takes it there I get a discount on his prices (paying cash helps too )

Hey jucee187, buy todays Toronto Star (Sept. 13th). My car is featured in the paper on page G4!!!!
