really depends on how deep your pockets are. anywhere from a maaco $300 to a custom 5k job. you decide....

Please don't go Maaco. It will look good for about 1 month, then turn to **** after a few months.

i had to spend about 7k for a all around but that was plus some body work. for a good paint paint job you would them to remove each and every moulding. Not just tape around them.

A paint job could go high as 20-30K for multiple coats, taking car apart, 2or 3 wet sands, etc.
On the low end, I wouldn't want a paint job that cost less than 2K. Unless you had a serious hookup and did part of the work yourself.
I had a friend who would charge literally pennies (cost of supplies plus a tip) but I had to take things apart, do some sanding and taping...the things you don't need a lot of training for.

Well,, depends on how much you value the car and if you plan to keep it for awhile. I had a friend do my 92 last summer and mine ran around $2k but the results were well worth it to me. There were alot of problem areas, which bothered me, that I wanted gone. Now that I went ahead and took the plunge, I was glad that I did. My car went from this,,

To,,,

The paint is the OEM paint code. It shines a whole lot because when my guy did the job, he also applied 3 coats of clear on top of it, so it only deepened the color. The grill was part of an Erebuni kit that I was considering. I wanted something different for the grill period and I wasnt sure that I was gonna like it. I do receive alot of compliments on it, and I like the fact that I will hardly EVER see anyone with it. The look just completely changed the entire front end of the car, so I will let it stay until I find something else I want.

Pretty much the going rate if it is to be done at least decently. My paint job was discounted b/c I was a close friend of the guy who did my job, and I have referred many people to him for paint/bodywork.

True,, true,, my car is 17 years old now but I do understand your point. It is alot of money with the way things are going today. Don't rush it and def dont go cheap on it if you do decide to do it. You will trust your decision later,, trust me. I waited 3 yearsto paint mine.

BTW,, you should drop down to the NELOC forum and intro yourself. Lots of cool local peeps there, and we have different gatherings on a frequent basis. Tell em TRUKN sent ya.

Actually not yet. Instead I had front clip and rear painted (along with trunk lid). I have various blemishes on roof and hood due to age (95). They are like spots that won't polish out. They look like corrosion or something.

I have so many miles on it I too wonder if it is worth it. I like the car so much though I can't see me getting rid of it when I replace it wit ha 430 as daily driver. I have done so many specific one off mods I would like to hang onto it.
