Default Question About Oil

If you had purchased a LS430 with 150k miles that had only used pennzoil 10w-30 with 5k OCI's, would ever consider moving to a full synthetic oil?

I would move to one of the HM-High mileage synthetics that have seal swolls in them.

Agreed. Or stay with "conventional". Key maintenance is frequency of oil changes. Even though synthetic has a "longer life span" depending on your driving conditions you may be better off just changing the oil more frequently.

Here is SoCal we are considered a "severe" driving state. Sitting in traffic among a myrad of other factors causes our oil, both synthetic and conventional to break down and wear much quicker. At school we sent my cars oil to be analyzed after 5,000 mi of driving and there were metal particles in the oil and its protection and sheer had dropped a considerable amount.
