ECU car will not start
My 1992 automatic SC400 will turn over strongly but will not start. I rebuild my ECU (replaced about 9 capacitors) and thought that had fixed the problem but after a day That proved not to be the fix. Help, any ideas?
fuel, spark and compression are the three things needed to make the engine start and run...
spark is easy enough to check - pull a plug or two and simply watch...
fuel - perhaps a little harder, but, still not too terribly hard, I just don't recall on the SC how to check - I'm sure someone on here has a write up - typically you can just pull the fuel return line to make sure there is pressure in the system, or there may be a fuel pressure port on the fuel rail itself...
compression - well, even with bad compression it should still stumble and at least fire a little... unless the timing belt has snapped or slipped, you should have enough compression to get further than you are...
start with spark, no spark - check coils, check to see if the coils are even getting triggered...
