Lexus Oil Change
Hi, I have a 2009 Lexus IS250 AWD (I'm located in Canada)
I just have a few quick questions about oil change before I call Lexus. I am planning to buy my own oil and filter and take it to Lexus for oil change because maintenance is too expensive.
1) I've been told that Mobil 1 engine oil is the best on the market so just wondering if anyone has experience with it, and if you do, which 1 of these is better:

apparently, the extended performance synthetic one lasts 20,000 KM...what about the normal synthetic one?
2) I know that 5W30 is the one to use, but how many Liters/Quarts should do I need?
3) I've also heard K&N is the best filter on the market, is this the right filter and how many KM does it last:

Thanks in advance!

synthetic oils can last about 10k miles or more depending on your driving style. the only way to know for sure is to do an used oil analysis (UOA). the AWD should take about 6.8L of oil (you can double check that in your owners manual. since you live in canda where it gets pretty cool in the winter I would suggest 0w30 (I am currently using it) motor oil to have better flow when you start up. Lastly, I think the oem oil filters are decent and cost under 5 bucks for one. Hope this helps
I have always used M1 but recently I have looked into Pennzoil Ultra. It is a new line up that has been greatly talked about. Here is a link from reputable site that deals with oil talk. CLICK HERE Just another option for you and oil.
So, earlier I just bought 6qt of the pennzoil ultra and a K&N filter with the larger size. Total was a little over $50. A bit pricy but something I am willing to try out. I will update if you or anyone care to read. But I think it would perform as good as any synthetic.
