I have a 1993 gs300. When I put a tape in the tape deck,
the sound from the speaker decrease tremendously.
But if i use the radio the speakers are fine. I dont understand.
It also makes a loud screech from time to time. Especially when
I try and use a cd player/w a tape adapter. Why is my head unit making that awful noise. It sounds like the speakers are busted but once again when I use the fm/radio it works just fine.
ANY ADVICE/ TROUBLE SHOOTING?
thanks
p.s. thinkin about putting this aftermarket head unit in
just to ease the pain.
Try cleaning the casette pickup head with suitable solvent (ie. rubbing alcohol). You can purchase a cleaning kit from your favorite audio stores (such as Radio Shack if there is one there).
