Default Cigarette Lighter Problem

I have the 97 SC400 and Cig lighter is not working.

i found this thread, but seems dead since 04 being the last post.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/mai...t-working.html

So i found 20A fuse in place but the box diagram says 15A. I'm not sure it was over loaded and wires are disconnected. i'm not very good with electrical so i'm not sure how i can check this... i suppose if i turn the car on and stick the volt meter prongs in place of blade fuse i shoudl get the power? and do the same with cig socket itself?

now i was just trying to get the cig socket out, disassembled to see whats going on in there, and i couldn't get it out. anyone knows how to take it out? I just took a quick look only so i might have missed something, but when i took the trim cover around the shifter, i saw screws near the cig socket, but it didnt seem to hold the cig socket but soemthing else.

so any help on this? disassembly and general cig socket problems.

i just figuired out the problem.
the fuse was replaced with 25A, not 20A as i originally stated, in place of 15A which is the correct amp according to the diagram on the fuse box cover.
anyways, the cig socket is attached to the center console trim, and it is not removeable from the trim. it almost looks like you can just take the cig socket area off, but its not. I had to remove the shifter panel first, then take the 8 screws out which holding the trim. 2 of them are hidden under the coup holder.
when i removed the trim and disassembled the cig socket itself, it looked fine, but when i started checking the connection with multimeter, i found the back of the socket's two metal pieces with aluminum? spacer in between weren't conducting. those pieces are connected with a short wire and i guess the wire just melted or somehow ripped even tho it looked fine from outside.
i just ripped it off, and instead of soldering or connecting another wire in place, i just removed the spacer out and pushed two metal pieces back so two just contact each other directly. as long as i don't put higher fuse, hopefully wires won't burn out.
good thing there was such wire there, if there wasn't wire in somewhere hard to reach area could have been melted.
