Window Not Working
About 6 months ago, my driver's side window on my 94 SC300 intermittently stopped working. Some drives it would work, and other times it wouldn't. Now, it never works. The switch on my driver's side completely stopped working for my driver's side and passenger side window. The switch on my passenger side window still works for that window.
I tried replacing my driver's side window switch, but that didn't help. The power locks and side mirrors still work fine. I have no idea what it could be, and am afraid to bring it to the dealer in fear of another $500 bill just to diagnose something (that's what they wanted to charge me last time I brought my car there, when a single wire got disconnected and they claimed that was the bill).
Any ideas? I would have thought it was the regulator or motor (since I already know it's not the switch), but if that was the case, than the driver's side switch should still work for the passenger window right? Because the passenger side window switch still moves that window up/down just fine.

Sometimes the wiring inside the door jamb goes bad and one or more of the wires breaks. You need to start checking wiring and voltages and see if the switch is getting and giving signals.
I've had the same trouble with a Toyota MR2 and a '91 LS400. In both cases, the switch had arced so much that it was black and wouldn't conduct. I opened the switch up as much as I could and used a fingernail file to clean the contacts--it worked perfectly after that! Hope yours is that simple! Good luck!
