Default Replaced 2 Lexus Radiators - DIY comparo

just an fyi .. Within 2 months, the radiators on my 93 GS300 and my 92 SC400 went out. The stop leak stuff only bought a month or so.. (enough time to order and receive the new radiator)

I bought a Rockauto radiator for the GS - not very good of a fit. The new one wasn't as tall as the OEM and I had to buy a different size Rad Cap. (had to bring the new radiator into the parts store to make sure I got the right size - PITA). The fitment on the temp sensor on the bottom wasn't very good, either.

On the SC, I went with the radiator barn ($189 free shipping). Their radiator fit like a glove - perfect...

Overall, changing the one on the SC was slightly more of a pain then on the GS.. The GS was very easy to disconnect the fan and remove that and the shroud. The SC has some oil-driven fan or something like that . I got away with replacing the rad without removing this fan by removing the battery so I could push the fan/shroud back and slip the new radiator in.

Oh well, just thought this may help someone with a leaky radiator !
