Default Changed the radiator - tip

I changed the radiator on my 06 today; 70kmiles.
Several people mentioned having trouble with the bottom hose clamp on the passenger side. They suggested buying a 25.00 tool. You don't have to do that

Just leave it attached and lift it out with the radiator. Make note, or take a picture of how it is attached. Install the new hose and clamp on the new radiator. Drop the new assembly in place. I took the engine fan off but didn't really need to. Also while you are there replace the fan belt.

I pulled the radiator, shroud, and fan out at the same time. I installed the fan back after changing the belt. The put the shroud back in, then the radiator with the bottom coolant hose and oil cooler hose attached. Took about 2 hours, basic tools and 1-1/2 gallons of the Beck/arnley pink stuff

Default What replacement raditor did you get?

Thanks for the tip. I am going to do some preventative maintenance and replace my radiator on my 2006 with 120,000 miles. Interested in the radiator you purchased and where you got it?
Also, am I correct you did not use the Toyota anti-freeze, I am wondering why you did not use the Toyota anti-freeze. I was under the impression that there is no OEM equivalent. Thanks

Default thanks for the tip radiator removal

Thanks for those tips, very helpful. I do find the transmission lines to be a little worry. Hopefully when I do this I don't lose much fluid. Thanks, Al
