breakb, your SC400 is a 1992. I'm sure it's old and tired by now after all those years and mileage. My 1999 GS400's mount was replaced just 2 years ago. It wasn't bad, but once replaced, it felt like a new car again. Then again, not all mounts wear out at the same time.

haha. alright, i'll look into taking it to my mecahnic, my frens dad, so i trust him. also...how much do these motor mounts cost and how much hours of labor u think?

also would this fix the problem of when i'm driving it feels like the engine is free is like revving but it's not moving, then it jolts into 2nd. when i'm just lightly pressing on the pedal for regular driving. or is this totally like all tranny problems... >_<

Peace out

Your car requires 2 mounts...Each at around $80-90 or so for the SC400. Labor should be around 3-ish hour depending on your mechanic.

It wont fix the jolt into 2nd gear. How do I know? Because I have the same problem right now . I'm thinking it's a torque converter issue more than anything else.

I'm not going to change out the torque converter. lol. Dont want to be the guinnea pig

Besides, it doesn't happen too often to me anyways. Car is getting old so I rather not fix it.

When the OP mentioned the dark fluid originally, he didn't say anything about the jolt into 2nd. That's definitely not normal. Also, Lexus or not, stuff wears out.

It might be your mounts? I know for my Acura legend, I had the same jolt until I replaced the transmission mount (engine mount helps too). Now it's so much better.

having the same problem here man. =/ i think it might be the motor mounts like mentioned before by GSteg

i was talking to my manager about the shifting hard for 2,3,4, he said to check my tranny fluid. so i'mma do that and just fill it up or flush it if it's low.

Peace out
