Does anyone know how to fix this, or replace those twisting metal rods with new ones? Thank you.

 

This has got to be one of the most often discussed issues of the SC's.
There are literally dozens, if not scores of threads dealing with replacing those "lift supports" already on this forum.

Try a search and see above for a hint as to what key words to use.

 

Yeah, there's a thread with how to replace them and everything. It's an easy $50 fix. Totally well worth it!
