hey guys, tried doing a search but came up empty handed..so my trunk was working perfectly fine yesterday (as far as using the fob or sensor pad to open it) but today for some reason, it's not working. no response from the key fob (battery is still good since it locks and unlocks) sensor pad on the trunk itself is not responsive..even the actual button in the cabin..had to resort to using the physical key to gain access..just wondering what would cause this and what are the best-cost effective methods to take care of this. thanks guys!
Had the same issue. Was locked totally out of my trunk. There is a dealer fix on this already. Mine was covered by the CPO program. It has something to do with the auto-close trunk function. They had to bring in a specialist, as their service department was not able to handle it.

crap...mine is not CPO...and my warranty is already out...shot in the dark..but any idea how much it would cost?? I'm guessing some pretty big bucks since they had to bring in a specialist.. o.O
I think it was expensive to do, but the only reason they needed outside help, was there own lack of knowledge and skill with it. I think there is a TSB on it, so it should be covered regardless. It won't hurt to take it in. Not sure if the dealership is on your island or not, so that may be an issue.
fortunately I do have a dealership on the island. I'll probably take it there sometime this week. it'd be great if it were covered! anyways, thanks for the help!
Not so stupid of a question. After I couldn't figure it out, I looked it up and found that may be the case. It wasn't, but I had not checked that before trying to get info from the good people of this forum. I would of felt really dumb! lol
happened to me once, turned out to be the button in the glove box... i now know that i can lock my trunk without being able to open it... i also painted my keyhole on the trunk black so it just looks like an empty "add-on" spot.....
Try the metal key, turn one side to pop the trunk and turn the other side to disable all electronics unlock. I did that once... don't remember which car it was.
